Love Island's Jack Fincham's mum tricked him into rehab when he was high on drugs, he has said.

The TV star completed a secret stint in rehab when his drug addiction became too much. He was addicted to cocaine and diazepam pills after finding same on the ITV show when he won with ex-girlfriend Dani Dyer.

The 31-year-old was taking at least 30 diazepam pills a day before his stint in rehab. He has since admitted that he would probably be dead if his mum didn't step in when she did. The evening before he went, he had taken a high quantities of sleeping and anti-anxiety tablets and was unaware of where he was or what he was doing.

Speaking to The Sun, Jack said: "Death was on the cards for me, it was imminent." He said his mum told him to pack a bag and said he was going to "go away for a while".

He added: "I got in there and then realised 's*** I'm not coming out of here now'. I started kicking off, shouting 'I don't need to be here, I'm not like that, I don't have a problem'." He has now said, though, he wouldn't be here if he hadn't have got help: "'If I had carried on how I was, even up to six months ago, I would definitely be dead. Without a shadow of a doubt."

Jack has now been clean since August, which is his longest drug-free spell since he left the Love Island villa. Jack has had a difficult time when it came to addiction, suffering from anxiety and hallucinations whenever he tried to get clean.

He went to The Haynes Clinic in Bedfordshire for rehab back in November 2020, but he relapsed after just months after his treatment. He has now returned to his job as a pen salesman, which he had before Love Island, as he gets back on his feet and goes to therapy and Narcotics Anonymous meetings.

This comes after Jack was handed a 36-month driving ban in October after he hit a traffic island with his BMW while under the influence of cocaine. He was first spotted by a woman as he drove on the wrong side of the road in Old Bexley Lane in Bexley, Kent before smashing his car into the traffic island.

She followed him for a distance and called the police after noticing how he was driving. When police approached him, he admitted to taking class A drug cocaine two nights previously. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

After providing a sample when he was in custody, Jack was found to be over the limit for cocaine and benzoylecgonine, a cocaine by-product. He was charged with two counts of drug driving and appeared at a Magistrates court in Medway and admitted to both offences.

He was then given a driving ban and ordered to complete 60 hours of unpaid community work to be completed within 12 months.
