Jennifer Aniston has been left struggling to cope with her grief over Friends co-star Matthew Perry as the whole cast continue to mourn their friend.

The 54-year-old Hollywood star has been mourning the loss of her friend alongside Lisa Kudrow, 60, David Schwimmer, 57, Courteney Cox, 59, and Matt LeBlanc, 56. According to a new report the group have been supporting each other through the ordeal and wishing there was more they could have done.

Jennifer is said to be taking it the hardest and is regretting that they "hadn't stayed as close" especially after they reconnected for a group dinner in 2019 before the Friends reunion back in 2021 - but didn't reunite for another dinner party since.

A source told Heat: “Jen, Courteney, Lisa and the boys are grief-stricken. They can’t believe he’s gone so soon and are desperately saddened they couldn’t do more, and that they hadn’t stayed as close. Right now, it’s all so hurtful and raw.” Matthew, 54, opened up about his love for his cast mates in his memoir last year, Friends, Lovers, And The Big Terrible Thing.

He wrote about how “they were understanding, and they were patient.” He added: “It’s like penguins. In nature, when one is sick or very injured, the other penguins surround it and prop it up and walk around until that penguin can walk on its own.”

However, while he was grateful to all of his former co-stars, it was Jennifer in particular he appeared to have the most admiration for. He wrote: “She was the one that reached out the most. I’m really grateful to her for that.”

The source meanwhile noted about their friendship: “They became like brother and sister, and it was probably the closest relationship between any of the cast, bar Jen and Courteney, of course. They hung out together during those early days, partied, and would even go as far as to seek each other’s opinions on who to date and what jobs to take."

The Morning Show star is said to have been hit hard by the loss and those close to her are now concerned for her wellbeing according to Page Six. Sources have told the publication that Jennifer is "struggling acutely."

The source said: “Out of the remaining five, Jen and Courtney are reeling the most, and Jen is probably the one who is struggling most acutely. It’s a second massive loss in less than a year, with the one-year anniversary of her dad’s death just around the corner. She still hasn’t fully regained her footing from that, and now this has just completely knocked her off her feet.”

Jennifer's father, John Aniston, passed away in November 2022 at the age of 89. Jennifer described him as “one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew," as she announced his passing away. Jennifer is reportedly trying to pull herself together and get in a better place following the loss of Matthew, with the source confirming: “She is trying to regroup and recover but it’s been a completely devastating blow."
