I'm A Celeb bosses told 'shame on you' by furious fans over line-up signing

Fans of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here were enraged after it was confirmed that former UKIP leader Nigel Farage is set to be part of this year's line-up.

It is believed that show bosses were keen to follow the success of last year when viewers saw disgraced former Health Secretary Matt Hancock go head to head with Lioness Jill Scott to be crowned winner of last year's series. On the back of confirmation of his signing fans flooded X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their dismay and anger over the poor decision by bosses - considering Nigel's political views have been deemed controversial.

One fan wrote on X: "Nigel Farage being on I’m a Celebrity is exactly what’s wrong with the UK." And this prompted another user to comment: "That now confirms I won't be watching How low can they sink actually paying that man money!" And a third person quipped that bosses would have "Hitler on that show if he was still alive." A fourth person penned: "I have never watched even a single episode of I’m A Celebrity - it offends my intellectual pride. The only pride Nigel Farage has is in his bank balance. I wish him all the ill luck in the world. Genuinely. And shame on you, @itv, for facilitating this demonstrable fascist."

This was met with another post that read: "First Hancock, now frog face. Who's next? Atilla the Hun?" This year's line-up also includes, YouTube sensation Nella Rose, boxer Tony Bellew, Britney Spear's sister Jamie-Lynn, food critic and MasterChef star Grace Dent, JLS star Marvin Humes, Nick Pickard from Hollyoaks, This Morning's Josie Gibson, jockey Frankie Dettori, First Dates star Fred Sireix, former EastEnders star Danielle Harold and former Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson.

Speaking about joining the show ahead of his confirmation, Nigel told GB News: "I have an existing Australian visa so if I chose to go there on holiday I could without too much difficulty. I’ve thought about (the offer) hard, for the last ten days or so. It’s quite a big decision and quite an unconventional thing for me to do. There is a big, young audience out there who don’t really have anyone that speaks to them, it seems to me, about current affairs and politics in Britain. That’s what tempts me, but I haven’t signed a contract… yet.”

And this came after the politician turned GB News regular, 59, first teased that he's ready to accept his invitation from ITV. And speaking to Mark Dolan on GB News, Nigel said: "In previous years, I've just ruled out being on the show completely. This year, I’m in a conversation with them. They've sent me a contract. I’m going to have a real serious read of it." He added: "And look, I might do it. I might not, but I'm giving it very serious consideration. It is a massive programme, watched by a vast number of young people who care about their lives but aren't engaged in politics. I'm giving it real thought."
