This Morning host Josie Gibson has told ITV viewers she believes opinion on Prince Harry and Prince William’s rift has shifted after shocking new allegations, after she herself previously supported the Duke of Sussex.

In a leaked excerpt from memoir Spare, Prince Harry sensationally claimed that his brother Prince William physically attacked him after the brother's clashed over Meghan Markle.

On Thursday's This Morning the hosts discussed the bombshell accusation that Prince William lunged at Prince Harry, ripping his necklace and knocking him to the floor where he smashed a dog's bowl that he landed on.

Josie told co-host Dermot O’Leary she has ‘always stayed impartial’ about the Royal Family’s fallout, but now feels differently.

In the ITV studio on Thursday morning, she said: “He’s never spoken about William. He’s always said, ‘I will never ever speak about William’ – and he’s spoken about William.”

Guest Royal commentator Camilla Tominey then asked Josie to clarify what she means and who she sympathises with now.

Josie replied: “I don’t agree. Meghan’s dad went to the press and I don’t agree with anybody going to the press about family.

“Now, this was his brother and he’s always said about William, ‘I will never ever say what he said, I will never ever say what he said’.

“And then he’s brought something that's quite private into the press.”

Camilla noted the situation was ‘strange’ as she said: “There’s an irony in the Thomas Markle-isation of Harry, going on things like 60 Minutes to talk about his family, when that’s exactly what Harry and Meghan have accused the press of doing – of exploiting people trying to either reconcile or give their side of the story.

“I think we can appreciate his right to say and write what he wants, but we’re questioning the wisdom of it with regard to whether it can actually put these brothers back on the path to being what they once were.”

Kensington Palace has not responded to the bombshell attack allegations, as the publication of Prince Harry's memoir next Tuesday looms.

The book says the row was sparked by comments Prince William made to Prince Harry at his London home in 2019, according to the Guardian, where the excerpt was published.

The paper says Prince Harry writes that his brother was critical of his marriage to Meghan and that Prince William described her as ‘difficult’, ‘rude’ and ‘abrasive’.
