Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick now - new film, famous girlfriend and baby plans

Ed Westwick is in his comeback era after rising to fame playing troubled and loveable Chuck Bass in the popular Gossip Girl series over a decade ago. Now, the 36-year-old British actor stars in a gripping new action film, Deep Fear, alongside Romanian actress and model Madalina Ghenea, and is being interviewed about his new role on tonight's The One Show.

Away from the red carpets and film sets, Ed has settled down in the countryside with his girlfriend of two years, Bollywood actress Amy Jackson, 31. The couple met at a Silverstone racetrack in 2021 at an event hosted by Aston Martin, and raced each other on the track before speeding off into the sunset - quite literally.

In a recent interview, Ed opened up about his blossoming romance and plans for the future, including their first Christmas in the country, marriage and kids. The pair were living in London together before they bought a home to renovate, on the outskirts of the capital. Ed said he hopes to be able to welcome babies in their new home, which they are currently renovating - and wedding bells are on his mind too.

Opening up to HELLO! Magazine, Ed said: "Amy and I moved to the countryside, just an hour from central London six months ago and have been busy renovating the house. I grew up nearby and my two brothers live close by. We are surrounded by countryside and I wake up in the morning and walk around and there's no one but us and my neighbour's horses. We are very, very happy."

Discussing plans for Christmas 2023, the TV star said: "We don't have a dining room table yet. We are very excited and I'm picturing us having Christmas dinner around it together. Although one of my brothers and his wife and kids who were meant to be coming over are now going away. Families are funny! Trying to get everyone together is hard. We all want to do our own thing. But we are a very close family."

When asked if marriage and babies are on the cards in the future, he enthusiastically replied: "Yes! One hundred percent. I grew up in a wonderful household where my mum and dad were married. My parents loved each other fiercely right up to the end. I idolised them and their relationship. Just that kind of support!" Ed's parents, university lecturer dad Peter and educational psychologist Carole, have both sadly died.

Peter passed away in July 2013 at the age of 66, while Carole lost her life to a rare form of cancer in September last year. Ed has been raising awareness of the disease she suffered from; Mesothelioma - which is a form of lung cancer that is caused by asbestos. During her career, Carole worked in various school buildings, taking office space in the attic rooms. Due to the nature of Mesothelioma contraction, the family does not know at which point in life she inhaled the asbestos particles that caused the disease.
