A loyal bulldog left mourners at a wake stunned after he stood up to lean on the coffin of his murdered owner.

Jack Ramírez Comas, 23, was fatally shot in the head by thieves in Barranquilla, Colombia on November 1. His grieving mother Zamara Comas watched on when the family dog Orion approached his coffin a few days later.

In a heartbreaking moment, the sad pooch was then seen standing on his hind legs, with his head resting on the bottom of the wooden casket. Recalling how the dog reacted to the sight of her son's coffin, Zamara said: “Orion the dog jumped out of the car and went straight to the living room where my little one was.

"He immediately jumped up to the coffin to smell him, it was as if he knew he was there. Orion waited at the door for him every day and we wanted him to say goodbye in some way so he wouldn’t keep waiting for him.” Mr Ramírez was buried at the Gardens of Eternity Cemetery in Barranquilla, Colombia on 4 November.
