Senior royal accused of affair with famous actress as 'damning photos' emerge
The heir to the Danish throne is rumoured to be engaged in an affair with a Mexican celebrity Masterchef contestant.
Crown Prince Frederik's supposed liaisons with Genoveva Casanova has been refuted by the actress while Crown Princess Mary, his wife, carried out royal engagements despite the scandal rocking the Danish Royal Family. Denmark's future Queen held her emotions down while visiting the Centre for Danish Architecture in Copenhagen beside Spain's King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia on the final day of their state visit.
The scandal was sparked last week after Casanova, 47, was seen with the heir to the throne attending a Pablo Picasso exhibition. Casanova has spoken out about the rumours, saying the "photos prove nothing" and that the pair are just "friends".
"I want to make it very clear that I have no relationship with him, as some suggest," she said. Casanova continued: "Except for those who want to distort the images and see something where there is nothing. We have common friends and I am not going to tell who my friends are."
In an interview with Hola! magazine, the former daughter-in-law of billionaire Duchess of Alba branded the rumours "categorically" untrue and branded the claims as "malicious". Spanish media claimed that Frederik spent the night at the socialite's home after being snapped walking together in broad daylight in Retiro Park in Madrid. They reportedly enjoyed a long walk and seemed friendly, and were not hiding their behaviour from anyone.

A statement from the socialite said: 'I categorically deny the statements that suggest a romantic relationship between Prince Frederick and me.'
She added: 'Any statement of this type not only completely lacks the truth but also misrepresents the facts in a malicious manner. This is already in the hands of my lawyers, who will take care of the pertinent steps to protect my right to honor, truth and privacy.'
