John Lewis has launched its highly-anticipated Christmas advert for 2023 - and it brings plenty of festive cheer to our screens. Like in previous years, the department store is selling merchandise inspired by its latest seasonal commercial, including glow-in-the-dark pyjamas.
This year's joyful advert features a character that's bound to delight viewers this winter, Snapper the Venus flytrap. This singing plant is mistakenly grown instead of a traditional Christmas tree by a young boy, called Alfie, before being thrown out into the garden when it gets too big - and causes mischief. A happy ending sees Snapper accepted by the child's family to switch up their celebrations.
Customers wanting to buy products featured in the two-minute clip are in for a treat, as there's an impressive range of merchandise available, here. One Snapper-inspired buy that's flying off the shelves is this character pyjama set - and we're not at all surprised.
The red John Lewis nightwear set is available in versions for men, women and kids, with prices starting from £17. We're certainly keen to snap up a few pairs ahead of the Christmas period as they'd make lovely gifts for loved ones.
What makes the red Snapper pyjamas so special is the bottoms, which have a wonderfully Christmassy design. Once unpacked and exposed to daylight, the green fairy lights on the trousers will glow when the lights are off. How good is that?

The new seasonal clip has a hidden meaning about embracing an untraditional Christmas.
Charlotte Lock, Customer Director for John Lewis, said: “We are a nation that loves the traditions of Christmas - from classic traditions like pantos and putting up the tree to evolving new ones like crafting our own presents and Zoom get-togethers. Many of us have our own unique festive traditions and that makes them even more special.
“The film celebrates themes of family and evolving traditions and shows that a ‘perfect’ Christmas is finding joy together with loved ones, whatever your traditions.”
Other retailers selling festive pyjamas include online retailer Very. Our top pick? These Grinch-inspired sets, costing £25.
