Marcus Rashford ’s brother has been arrested and is set to appear in court following allegations of domestic violence in the United States.

Dane Rashford was arrested on 20 October in Florida’s Miami Beach. He appeared in court the following day where the bond for his release ahead of his pre-trial hearing was set at $1,500 (£1,224), according to police records.

According to The Telegraph, his charge was later registered on 24 October as misdemeanour of battery, which was further defined as domestic violence. Dane is a Football Association-registered intermediary, working closely with his brother Marcus, and a director of DN May Sports Management.

Rashford is managed by his other brother, Dwaine Maynard, who, like his sibling, is a registered FA intermediary and he was named on the official FA documents for Rashford’s last two contracts with the Red Devils.

Dane was pictured in official police arrest photographs after he was brought in. He has also been issued with a pre-trial ‘stay away order’, whereby the court in the state of Florida has declared Dane must not contact the victim.

Florida court documents also reveal Dane’s bond was paid by Chantelle Maynard one week after his arrest. He is no longer in prison after posting bail, while he has pleaded not guilty. Dane faces a further hearing on 27 November.

Assistant state prosecutor for Miami Dade County Daysi Vega-Mendez told The Telegraph: “The case is still active, at the moment I haven’t been able to get hold of the victim. Our office is trying to get hold of the UK Embassy because we need permission to speak to the victim.

“I am not sure whether they are still in the United States or if they have left the country. I understand they were on vacation. Technically once you are charged you are not supposed to leave the country. When a person is given a bond if they leave, they surrender that bond.

“At the moment the case is still active and listed for an arraignment hearing on Nov 27.”

Neither Dane nor Rashford are yet to comment on the situation. Sources close to the situation confirmed to Mirror Sport that this was a private matter which has been resolved and everyone is willing to move on.

It is not the first time Dane has been in the headlines. In January 2019, he - along with Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold ’s brother Tyler - were attacked and robbed by a group of men armed with a sawn-off shotgun, machete and a baseball bat.

The brothers were struck in the head and robbed of a £70,000 Range Rover, wallets and designer watches whilst eating breakfast with friends. Each of the three assailants were sent to prison.
