Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher impressed his CBS Sports co-workers and the network's viewers with his football knowledge, with the former center-back able to recall intimate details from the 1991 European Cup final.

In that final, Red Star Belgrade won the European Cup after penalties, defeating French side Marseille. One of the interesting facts about that year's final that Carragher recited, was Red Star's change of tactics to achieve victory.

On Red Star's run to the final, they destroyed their opposition: Grasshoppers 5-2, Rangers 4-1, Dynamo Dresden 6-0, and a tough Bayern Munich 4-3 in the semi-finals. Star striker Darko Pancev was the man who scored the winning goal and Carragher referenced his big move later on to Inter Milan, as well as future accolades of other members of the 91' Red Star squad.

"I'm gonna start calling this guy Google over here, he knows it all," former Premier League and USMNT striker Clint Dempsey joked. "Carra, that's fantastic, fair play," co-star Micah Richards said, before shaking the 05' Champions League winner Carragher's hand.

The viewers also enjoyed Carragher's history lesson of the legendary Red Star team. "Jamie Carragher is a football geek in the best way possible. You can tell he’s absolutely obsessed with the game," one said on X, formerly Twitter. Another added: "@carra23's knowledge of the game is truly impressive. He's got the skills to pay the bills! Keep up the great analysis, Carra!"

Carragher is a regular on the American sports channel for its broadcast of the Champions League and has contributed to a number of highlight-worthy moments alongside Richards and Thierry Henry. The latter was not in the studio for CBS' coverage but was instead at the San Siro for AC Milan's clash with PSG.

This time, Dempsey and Richards were made to reenact a flair-up they had during their playing days when they were at Fulham and Manchester City respectively. The pair jokingly went head-to-head before Richards recalled what Dempsey said to him: "You don't know where I'm from, dawg."
