EastEnders fans are convinced Jane Beale could be making a big return to the BBC soap - after 'spotting her on set'.

Jane - played by Laurie Brett - was last seen on the programme back in 2017 when Max Branning ordered her to leave Walford. Whilst she hasn't been back since, Ian Beale is now back alongside his ex Cindy Beale.

Cindy - played by Michelle Collins - made a shocking return earlier this year when it was revealed she was actually alive and had been put into witness protection and given another alias, Rose Knight. When she was Rose, she met George Knight - Elaine's new partner - and they ended up having two kids together, Gina and Anna Knight.

Adamant to return to Walford, Cindy - with her ex Ian in tow and son Peter Beale - made a return to the East End, not knowing that George and Elaine had moved there with the kids to help run the Queen Vic with Linda Carter.

Fans are now convinced Jane could be making a huge return to the show after spotting her in the background of a behind-the-scenes video of Linda star Kellie Bright's day on set. One fan mused: "Is it just me or does this look like Jane Beale behind linda on her day in the life on tiktok?" as others rushed to agree with them, insisting it must be Laurie.

Could this mean Jane Beale is heading back to the Square, and if she does, what chaos will this cause for both Cindy and Ian Beale, as well as George, as there's clearly chemistry between him and his ex.

Discussing Christmas, soap boss Chris Clenshaw teased a potential affair between Cindy and George.

"There’s definitely huge chemistry at Christmas between her and George. We have the Beales and the Knights come together at Christmas to have Cindy’s first Christmas in ten years with her daughters and Peter, but what becomes quite apparent is her and George’s connection when they actually start to reminisce about Christmases of the past, of them together in Marbella – which is not what anyone, especially Ian or Elaine, want to hear on Christmas Day!" he teased of what's to come.

Adam Woodyatt - who plays Ian Beale on the BBC soap - and Laurie Brett have remained great friends and even starred in a play together, so if it is Laurie, could this just be an on set visit from an old friend, or is Jane coming back for good?
