What could be better than a day out at the seaside, followed by a night dancing to some fantastic music? Well, next summer Margate in Kent is again the place to be. The first wave of the Margate Summer Series stellar shows for 2024 have been announced, bringing the very best line-up of homegrown and international artists to party in the UK’s coolest seaside town in a celebration of pop, funk and soul, rock and everything in between.

From May to September 2024, Margate will once again become the go-to destination for music fans as the series returns to take over the town’s premier amusement park and now legendary seafront music venue Dreamland. Following the successful launch in 2022, Margate Summer Series has already become a staple in the summer festival calendar, expanding from just three summer shows to 21 in only two years, with the 2024 series looking to be the biggest and best yet.

The first group of artists unveiled for the Margate Summer Series include singer-songwriter, Jack Savoretti (Friday 5th July), who will undoubtedly mesmerise audience members with his trademark folk and indie sounds, smooth vocals and acoustic guitar-laden tracks.

Also announced are JLS (Saturday 6th July), who skyrocketed to pop stardom after The X Factor in 2008, amassing numerous fans with their harmonious vocals, and some of the slickest dance moves ever delivered by a British boyband. With classic singles including ‘Everybody In Love’, ‘One Shot’ and ‘Beat Again’, along with tracks from the band’s upcoming album, JLS 2.0 – their first to be released in over eight years – audiences are guaranteed a high-energy dose of nostalgia.

Margate will be basking in disco fever when music phenomenon, Nile Rodgers & CHIC (Saturday 13th July), take to the stage. Their funk and soul energy, teamed with a setlist of countless iconic hits, will make for the ultimate disco-singalong. Supported by Kitchen-disco-queen, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, with her glossy, ‘80s-synth-pop influenced dance hits along and with DJ collective Horse Meat Disco, who will guarantee grooves in an abundance late into the evening.

Also joining the Margate Summer Series is UK pop-sensation, Jess Glynne (Friday 26th July), whose unmistakable vocals and chart-topping hits include, ‘I’ll Be There’, ‘Hold My Hand’ and ‘Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself’, as well as new tracks from her highly awaited third album will delight crowds as she makes her grand return to the stage.

On top of all that, Craig David (Friday 2nd August) will be returning to his DJ roots and bringing his infamous TS5 party back to Margate, expect massive old skool anthems, R&B, Swingbeat, Garage and Bashment, plus chart-topping House hits. Craig David presents TS5 has become a true fixture in the summer party calendar, from Miami to Ibiza this will be an unmissable DJ event from the “7 Days” garage-tinged R&B British singer.

Finally, after thrilling millions of fans on their 20th anniversary tour, Busted (Friday 23rd August) will return with their irrepressible pop-punk energy to take things to a whole new level for a one-day outdoor spectacular. Expect special guests (TBA) and all your favourite hits: ‘What I Go To School For’, ‘Year 3000’ and ‘Air Hostess’ – plus many, many more.

With the most prominent of locations, smack bang on the Margate seafront, Margate Summer Series attendees will not only be able to revel in the music, enjoy great food and retro-inspired rides at Dreamland, but can delight in the town’s unique spirit. Packed with cool cafes, award-winning restaurants, art galleries, bars and museums, all within a stone’s throw, Margate is the ideal location for a day trip, weekend away, or simply a night out with old friends and your favourite bands.
