Big Brother Nadia's very different life out of the spotlight with new career

Nadia Almada won the hearts of the nation when she was crowned Big Brother champion back in 2004 - becoming the first transgender woman to achieve victori.

Following her victory, Nadia tipped her toe in the sea of fame, releasing a single, A Little Bit of Action, and appearing in Hollyoaks when she turned on the Christmas lights in the village. Sadly her side-step into the world of pop was short lived as her single reached 27 in the charts and was her only release.

Nadia then entered the Big Brother Australia house and even returned to presenting during the ninth series of the UK show, when she was there for the launch night. The final time she would be involved with Big Brother was in Ultimate Big Brother back in 2010, when she was evicted on day eight and in third pleace. The series was eventually won by Brian Dowling.

Since then, Nadia has appeared on several reality shows, including the Channel 5 show, Trust Me... I'm A Holiday Rep, Channel 4 series Fool Around With.... Nadia also took part in Celebrity Videos Not Fit For TV, hosted by Lorraine Kelly and Eamonn Holmes

But then the former Big Brother legend made the brave decision to step away from the spotlight and has spent the last 10 years working as a hairdresser. Nadia made the decision when her showbiz work began to dwindle, a career in hairdressing was there to save her - training as a hair stylist with Vidal Sasoon.

Nadia explains how she is happy with her private life and current career, but points out how opportunities presented to cisgender reality TV stars didn't come her way back in the day. Although Nadia is "very happy" working in the beauty industry with her private clients and enjoys "the quiet life away from fame", she wouldn't say no to a return to reality TV - expressing an interest in appearing on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! or "that middle-aged Love Island show" in the future.

The iconic star also has plans to make some additional income from OnlyFans - the adults-only site that has made Kerry Katona a millionaire. "I have an OnlyFans but I don't have anything on it at the moment," she reveals. "I need to put some effort into it. Maybe I will post some pictures of my feet and toes, there is a market for that," she tells The Sun.

"I wouldn't go fully nude, but I would shower in my heels on there, as that's what everyone remembers me for and of course I still do that!" Nadia is keen to show off her new look to fans on the site, after recently having "a lot of gender-affirming surgery" on her face because "I am a lady of a certain age."
