General Hospital star found 'in bedroom' by friend in new details of death at 50
General Hospital star Tyler Christopher has sadly passed at the age of 50.
The former actor, who was previously married to Eva Longoria, was found in the bedroom of his San Diego apartment by a friend who had a key on Tuesday. Sources revealed that police officers visited the home at 9:30am after the friend called 911 as "it appeared he had been dead for some time."
Christopher's friend hadn't been able to reach him, causing concern and resulting in the home check, the source told TMZ. The actor's General Hospital co-star Maurice Bernard shared a moving tribute in the wake of his death, remembering Tyler as "a truly talented individual that lit up the screen in every scene he performed and relished bringing joy to his loyal fans through his acting.

Tyler appeared in 1,153 episodes of the medical drama as Nikolas Cassadine from 1996 to 2016. He also had an Emmy-nominated role as Stefan DiMera on Days of Our Lives from 2018 to 2019.
In 2008, Christopher married former ESPN reporter Brienne Pedigo and reportedly divorced in 2021. The former couple share two children: Greysun James Christopher and Boheme Christopher.

He was first placed under his sister's guardianship during a bout of alcohol withdrawal. He fell, hit his head and underwent life-saving surgery after internal bleeding. While Christopher was hospitalized, his sister filed for guardianship.
