One of Phillip Schofield's former This Morning co-stars has broken their silence one rumours he's joining this year's I'm A Celeb line-up.

It's thought the ex-TV presenter will be part of the star-studded show after admitting his infamous "unwise" affair with a younger male colleague in a 'comeback attempt' similar to that of disgraced MP Matt Hancock.

Schofield's suggested appearance would be his first time back on television since stepping down from ITV when his cheating scandal was exposed. He's kept a low profile since details of his affair were unearthed in various interviews.

Now with rumours rife, his former co-star and close pal Vanessa Feltz has addressed the rumours, revealing if she thinks friend Phillip is coming back to ITV. Probed on the red carpet at the London Lifestyle Awards, she said: "I don't know anything about it at all but I would be absolutely flabbergasted if that were true."

She told former Big Brother evictee Simon Gross that viewers should "put [their] money on him going nowhere near the place" and "absolutely not" to further theories Phillip would be taking part in an upcoming series of Celebrity Big Brother.

Vanessa did however speak on claims GB News presenter and former UKIP leader Nigel Farage would be more likely to do I'm A Celeb, saying he's a "very charming man… whether you agree with his politics or not".

"He’s entertaining, he's funny, he's got a lot of charm," she said, quipping that the jungle was "the best place for him". Addressing speculation during his GB News show on Monday night, Farage said: "Unlike previous years, I am giving it very, very serious consideration.

"Why? Well, you’ve got about 10 million young people who watch that programme. These are people who don’t really watch the news or read newspapers, but they still care about the country they live in and their futures, and actually, in many ways, the futures of young people in Britain had been blighted.

"They haven’t got the same opportunities that their parents and grandparents had and they’d love to look for solutions. So in my mind, if I was to do it, I might be able to connect with that audience, because goodness me they all watch I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!"

Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly are set to return to the Australian jungle with a fresh set of celebs who will take on the gruelling jungle challenges. Last year's line-up saw the show take place back Down Under after two years in Wales. The likes of Boy George, Matt Hancock and Chris Moyles took part, with footballing star Jill Scott taking home the jungle crown.

There has been no confirmed release date regarding the next series of the star-studded reality TV show, but it's thought it will return on ITV1 and ITVX on November 19. With much anticipation on who could be taking on the Bushtucker Trials.
