Mac Jones received no trade offers before the NFL's deadline - despite numerous teams looking for quarterbacks.

The likes of the Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons and Washington Commanders remain in the hunt for their franchise quarterback, but seemingly had no interest in moving for Jones. The New England Patriots quarterback finds himself playing for his future with the team this season after another slow start to the campaign with the Patriots slumping to a losing record.

Jones won the NFL's offensive rookie of the year award in 2021, before the Patriots put him in a precarious position the following season - being without an offensive coordinator which led to a poor season. The team did appoint former Alabama OC Bill O'Brien into the role of Jones' playcaller, but the quarterback's struggles have continued - with many expecting this to be his last year with the team.

The Patriots were said to be listening to calls for all of their players ahead Tuesday's trade deadline but received no offers for Jones. Amid their quarterback struggles, the front office are likely to look towards the 2024 NFL Draft, which could feature as many as six first-round quarterbacks.

Caleb Williams (USC), Drake Maye (UNC), Michael Penix Jr (Washington), Bo Nix (Oregon) and Quinn Ewers (Texas) are all expected to be taken on day one, while Shedeur Sanders (Colorado), JJ McCarthy (Michigan) and Riley Leonard (Duke) could all be added to that list should they declare for the draft.

If this is to be the case, keeping hold of Jones for the rest of this season would have made little sense - with the Patriots able to acquire further draft assets to be able to select their quarterback of choice. Some had suggested that the San Francisco 49ers could consider making a move for Jones amid Brock Purdy's struggles this season, with head coach Kyle Shanahan admitting he was a big fan of the former Alabama quarterback when coming out of college before eventually drafting Trey Lance.

However, Jones will remain with the team for at least for the rest of the year, where he will look to bounce back from a disappointing performance against the Miami Dolphins. When asked about Jones after the loss, head coach Bill Belichick said: "We all need to play better. We all need to coach and play better." The Patriots were dealt a huge blow to their season after it was revealed their leading receiver Kendrick Bourne would be ruled out for the year after suffering a torn ACL.

Multiple reports have suggested that they had been in deep discussions with the Seattle Seahawks to trade away pass-rusher Josh Uche, but did not come to terms with the team with Seattle instead trading for Leonard Williams from the New York Giants. The team also received offers for offensive guard Mike Onwenu and safety Kyle Dugger, but did not move on from them - two of their better players on the roster.
