Ex-Boots employee picks out the best early Black Friday deals to shop now
Boots has kicked off its Black Friday deals early, promising this November’s major shopping event to be its ‘biggest ever’. The health and beauty retailer has over 21,000 lines available to shop, and will be spreading their offers across the full four weeks throughout the month.
With so much choice, some deals are undoubtedly going to be better than others - so how do you sort the wheat from the chaff? That’s where I come in. Self-confessed bargain hunter, expert deal stacker and former Boots employee, which I think gives me enough expertise, having worked four Black Friday events with the high street favourite.
Before we get into my top picks of the deals that have launched, my first tip is to make sure you’re logged into your account and have your Advantage Card linked so you can scoop up those points. Be sure to load your bonus points or any personalised deals you have to maximise the benefits of the loyalty scheme.
I also recommend shopping online as it can be really easy to get carried away in store. Online, there’s a much wider variety of deals and offers, usually hosted all in one place, and you can easily see the total cost of your basket before you check out, rather than getting a shock at the till.
Whether you're looking to grab yourself a well-deserved treat, wanting to tick off some gifts from your Christmas list, or just looking for some everyday savings on everyday essentials, Boots’ Black Friday sale has a bit of something for everyone. These are my top picks of the best deals that you can shop right now.
Shop prices 'are yet to peak and will remain high' as inflation hits new heights
Shark deals
Shark FlexStyle 4-in-1 Air Styler & Hair Dryer (Shark via Very)Boots has slashed the price of the Shark FlexStyle 4-in-1 Air Styler & Hair Dryer in Stone by more than £50. Originally £269.99, it's now £215.99, saving £54. It's a great alternatve to the £479.99 Dyson Airwrap, and you can read what I though when I pitted it against it's rival last Christmas here.
Meanwhile, the Shark SpeedStyle RapidGloss Finisher & High-Velocity Hair Dryer was £200 and has been cut to £159.99, with £20 having been knocked off the Shark SmoothStyle Heated Brush & Smoothing Comb, down to £79.99 from £99.99.
However, shoppers will need to be quick to bag the deal because it ends on November 28. Anyone who spends over £60 on selected electrical beauty will also bag £10 worth of Advantage Card points, too. Score.

The box is worth £328.43 but will set shopper sback £80, saving nearly £250 (Boots)Boots has brought back its after it sold out last year.Launching as part of the high street favourite’s popular 'Star Gifts', which often give shoppers savings of over half price, the is likely to sell out within days, if previous hauls are anything to go by. The Boots Winter Skincare Edit gift set couldn’t have come at a better time. With the cold snap wreaking havoc on shoppers’ skin, the health and beauty retailer has come to the rescue with a seasonal remedy in the form of a curated selection of winter skincare essentials.

The £21.50 straighteners shoppers are ‘abandoning ghds’ for
Brands like Dyson, ghd and Cloud Nine have often paved the way in the hair tools industry - but his pair of , and shoppers say they’re the best they’ve used.

If there's one time of the year to bag a bargain on an electric toothbrush, it's Black Friday, and Boots have slashed the price of a number of Oral B devices, some saving as much as £275. The Oral-B iO7 Electric Toothbrush is usually £400, but is down to £150. The device is said to offer the 'most thorough, gentle and quiet clean of your life.'
It's racked up a 4.5 star rating from shoppers who say it's as good as a trip to the dentist. One said: "After using the toothbrush, I feel as if my hygenist has been to work. It's that good. Just great!" Another added: "I bought this a couple of days ago and I can really feel a difference, it gives that dentist clean feeling and I love it! Great investment!" However, some say the battery life isn't as good as other models.
Cheaper still is the iO4 version of the brush, down from £240 to £95. While it may not be quite as sophisticated as the iO7, it still features a a dentist-inspired round brush head with micro-vibrating bristles and a Smart Pressure Sensor that helps prevent you from brushing either too hard or too softly to better protect your gums.

Black Friday deals will see some of the best prices on perfumes and aftershaves. Boots has cut the price of that will make for some great gifts this Christmas. Here are some of my top picks out of the deals:

What about 'dud' deals?
As is always the case on Black Friday, some deals won't be quite as good, and there are a couple of what you could consider 'dud deals' in the mix. Less exciting than some of the above discounts are the reductions on the Soap and Glory and Ted Baker beauty advent calendars, which have both been reduced from £46 to £41.40, saving only £4.60 each, saving 10 per cent on the cost.
Meanwhile, the Instax Mini 12 Boots White Bundle is usually £99.99, but has been reduced to £89.99 for the early Black Friday sale, saving just a tenner. Similarly, the Vera Wang Princess for Women Eau de Toilette 100ml has been cut from £64 to £17.99, which sounds like a huge price cut, but it tends to be this price on Amazon for most of the year.
That said, whether it's considered to be a good deal or not is very much dependent on how desperately you want the item - a saving is a saving, right? You can shop all of the Boots Black Friday deals here on the website
