EastEnders fans have pointed out a harrowing detail in Dean Wicks' return scene, which aired on the BBC soap last night, as Linda Carter got the Halloween shock of her life

EastEnders fans have spotted a harrowing detail in Dean Wicks' return scene.

Last night on the BBC soap, Dean left Linda Carter – played by Kellie Bright – terrified when he appeared out of nowhere in her kitchen. He will soon reveal to Linda and the Square that he is back in Walford for the sake of his daughter, who is very ill.

Dean actor Matt di Angelo has revealed that Dean is Cindy's new business partner, which is no doubt set to cause even more tension between the recently rekindled Knights and Beales after they all find out Dean is back.

However, there is one element of the return scene that has left fans devastated for Linda. She was raped by Dean in harrowing scenes several years ago in 2014, with viewers noticing a sad link between that pivotal scene and last night's.

"It's only just hitting me how much worse it'll be for Linda to have seen him for the first time in the same room it happened," one viewer wrote, whilst another added: "And she was making hot chocolate just like she was in the original scene."

In response, a third fan shared: "I really enjoy this level of attention to detail. Extra layer of depth and feels like the writers really know their material," whilst a fourth wrote: "I could have cried for her honestly. How traumatic. Same man. Same room. Same month."

Matt teased that Dean doesn't really want to be back in Walford, but is left with no choice. Speaking about Dean's return, he said: "In all honesty, he doesn’t want to come back to Walford. He’s sort of forced back there because his daughter, Jade is very ill.

"She has cystic fibrosis and needs a transplant, which has to be done at the hospital nearby. Dean has to live there so he’s on call for her appointments and in case the transplant comes through, and they need to move fast. He’s reluctant because he knows the repercussions of returning, but ultimately, he has to help his family. Dean also needs to make a living whilst he’s there, so he’s invested in a new business, which will be revealed as Cindy and Ian’s new pie and mash shop, Beale’s Eels."
