David Beckham attends Ballon d'Or solo just hours after Rebecca Loos speaks out

David Beckham arrived at the Ballon d'Or ceremony in Paris just hours after Rebecca Loos spoke out following the release of his Netflix documentary.

Beckham, who finished his playing career in the French capital with PSG, was in attendance to witness his new Inter Miami signing Lionel Messi claim an eighth Ballon d'Or. Many of football's famous faces were at the ceremony, including Gary Lineker, Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

Beckham arrived without wife Victoria as the woman who claimed she had an affair with the ex-England captain claimed his Netflix documentary has led to her facing "horrific" trolling.The 46-year-old woman claims she has been subjected to huge online abuse as the alleged affair again becomes a talking point.

The incident, which she claims happened during Beckham's time at Real Madrid, was revisited in the four-part Netflix series.

She told ITV's Good Morning Britain : "When this documentary came out, I tried very hard to let it go and get on with my life, but it really bothered me the little angle and how he played the narrative and how misleading it is and how it's making me look like the bad person."

She went on to say: "Of course, I am also guilty, it takes two to tango, it's not all his fault but it's both of us."

On the abuse Loos added: "I woke up to all these horrific messages on Instagram being called horrible names, awful trolling. I had heard about trolling before but never experienced it because 20 years ago we didn't have social media. I would rather not have had to talk about it again. I had left it behind me, I had moved very much on with my life."

The Beckhams have always denied the affair. When David signed for Los Blancos originally it was he who moved to Spain with Victoria joining later. She has said on the rumours it was "the hardest period for us because it felt like the world was against us and we were against each other".

Beckham admits he's been pleased with the response to his documentary, which details his rise from a London school boy to Manchester United's biggest name. The demise in his working relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson is well documented as is the beginnings of his relationship with Victoria.

Now the England legend's focus from a working perspective is on Inter Miami, the club he spent years trying to set up. They've endured mixed fortunes but for the next 12 months will boast the current Ballon d'Or winner.

Messi has received a huge reception in Florida with interest peaking as stars flock to watch the World Cup winners in his new pink colours.
