Shoppers are insisting that a £22.50 extra virgin olive oil is better than anything in the supermarket and that it's a 'great gift' for the foodie in your life.

Citizens of Soil have currently got two extra virgin olive oils on the market and they pride themselves with working directly with female farmers that practise regenerative agriculture in their groves.

Their Portuguese Single Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil has found itself quite popular, the brand stocks two oils at the moment with one being 'for the kitchen' and their Portuguese option being better suited 'for the table'.

It has been described as having a palate of green almonds, pine seeds, dried fruit. Ana, the producer of the oil, recommends it over a tomato soup or spaghetti alle vongole - as well as in a martini.

The oil has been described as better than anything available in supermarkets and delicatessens and some people even eat it drizzled across ice cream for an authentic taste of Europe.
