NFL wide receiver Davante Adams has reiterated his intention to remain with the Las Vegas Raiders amid rumours he could be traded.

Adams has been with the Raiders since making the switch to Las Vegas from the Green Bay Packers in March 2022. The 30-year-old is now playing his second season at Allegiant Stadium but there have already been suggestions he could be set for a move particularly after good friend and quarterback Derek Carr moved on in the offseason.

The NFL trade deadline is on October 31, when teams will no longer be able to acquire or move on players from their rosters. As a result, the next few days are likely to be rather busy for a number of teams across the league.

Adams is one player whose future has been the subject of speculation. However, reported on October 21 that the Raiders had no intention of trading the six-time Pro Bowler before next week’s deadline.

With the deadline fast approaching, the wide receiver has opened up on his future and explained why he has no intention to leave Las Vegas anytime soon.

“I will say this, I am happy to be a Raider, 100 percent,” Adams said on the Rich Eisen Show on Friday. “This was my choice and this is something that I am standing by and want to continue to work at to make it what it’s supposed to be.

“I am not happy at every moment with the way things go, but I’m definitely proud to wear this uniform and proud to go out there with my teammates and try to put on a great display week in [and] week out.

“We’ve just got to continue to do things as a unit, from the top to the bottom, to just make it more fun when we go out onto the field on game day.

“Every day is fun in here. Grinding it out, going to practice, weight room, and film room. I love my guys, but winning makes everything much more fun, so we’ve just got to do more of that.”

Adams was then asked about the speculation that has surrounded his future and whether or not he can appreciate the doubt that he would remain with the Raiders. The receiver insisted that he has not made any effort to be traded, and is not planning on doing so.

“I can certainly understand it [the trade rumours], but the thing is I haven’t put anything out there about wanting to get traded,” said Adams. “And I’m not going to do that.

“Based on certain quotes and people speculating whether or not I should be getting the ball more, that’s what’s led to this. There’s not been any negative attention from Davante Adams or any comments that I have made to try and stir up the pot.”

Adams added: “I’m focused solely on being a Raider, and I’m not looking for a new home. I don’t control what anybody decides to do, that’s not my focus at all.”
