Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo was reportedly left fuming on Thursday night after a stunt for a new travel show ended in 'shambles', according to inside sources.

The This Morning culinary expert was reportedly caught up in a tobogganing accident involving three people and required medical treatment after. The disaster reportedly unfolded during filming in Austria for a new ITV show called Emission Impossible, the production of which has now been halted.

The 47-year-old Italian described the experience as "the worst shoot of our life" before slamming ITV for failing to check up on him, The Sun reports.

"I am shocked I have not had a phone call from ITV to see how I am and I cannot wait to talk to them about all of this," he said. "After 22 years of working with them, I am in an accident and I get ill, and yet I don’t get a phone call; I smell a fish. I think ITV have no idea what happened.”

Cast and crew were offered counselling and sent home following the accident, which occurred on October 18. A particularly dangerous stunt involved Gino going down a "200ft slide on a toboggan, clutching a cocktail glass".

“He was still filming a piece to camera when a mother and her two kids came hurtling down at 30mph and crashed," the source added. "There was blood everywhere and one of the boys had blood pouring from his mouth. The mum and her other child had concussion and an ambulance was immediately called as Gino was treated on-site."

Crew were 'understandably shaken' and the shoot is reported to have immediately halted after the disaster. “ITV had real duty of care concerns and immediately offered counselling to anyone who may have been upset by what they saw. The following day both Fred and Gino got ill, and Gino’s temperature shot up to 40.3 degrees. Two doctors were called."

The star was reportedly prescribed antibiotics, and was stuck in Vienna until he was well enough to fly home. Gino is said to have been left 'livid' after the crash. The six-part series started as a passion project for co-stars and friends Gino and Fred. The pair set about trying to eat, sleep and travel as sustainably as possible in 'inspirational' locations.

The Mirror has contacted representatives of Gino, ITV and Production Company Betty TV. ITV reportedly declined to comment to The Sun.
