Misfits star Nathan Stewart-Jarrett fronts Disney's new heist thriller

Disney+ is launching a brand-new series that follows the aftermath of a high-stakes bank heist. Premiering this Autumn, Culprits is a tense thriller from English filmmaker J Blakeson, writer-director of Amazon Prime Video’s I Care A Lot.

Billed by Disney+ as a “thrilling and high tension crime thriller,” Culprits is an original series that was filmed across Ontario, Canada, London and Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Unlike many heist-based films and shows, Culprits kicks off where most crime stories end, years after the crime has taken place.

Its trailer teases everything from explosive action, nail-biting tension and some comedy thrown in for good measure. Here, we break down everything you need to know about Culprits.

What is Culprits about?

Culprits centres on loving dad Jules Petrus, who is living the American dream: he’s a fiancé to Jules, dad to Frankie and Bud, and starting his own business in a sleepy suburban town. But unbeknownst to his family, Joe has a secret.

Three years ago, he was recruited by notorious British criminal Dianne Harewood to join her crew and take part in a high-stakes crime – one that promised to make Joe rich and provide him with a brand-new life. But now, past and present collide when a ruthless assassin starts targeting the crew behind the crime.

When Culprits is released and how to watch

All eight episodes of Culprits drop on Wednesday, November 8, making it perfect for a weekend binge. It is available to stream in the UK with a subscription to Disney+, which, until October 31, costs £7.99 a month.

That is because Disney+ is refreshing its prices on November 1 in a move that could see some members paying an extra £36 a year. Disney fans have until October 31 to sign up and lock in the current price by subscribing to an annual membership.

Doing so gives new members 12 months access for less than the cost of eight months on Disney+’s new and more expensive premium plan. Shoppers can also bag huge discounts on their Disney+ subscription with these deals.
