Harry's relationship with Meghan's mum 'gets stronger' as royal divide continues
Prince Harry ’s relationship with the Royals remains divided - but his bond with Meghan’s family is going from 'strength to strength'.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s relationship with their royal relatives is still believed to be at a breaking point with their only ally within the Firm. Last month, Harry returned to the UK for a charity event but Meghan did not accompany him and he did not spend time with either his or brother . Despite the tense times, Harry is said to enjoy a close relationship with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.
Hello reports, they have spent summer breaks and anniversaries together. When the couple first met, Doria said of Harry: “He was 6’1, a handsome man with red hair, really great manners. He was just really nice. And they looked really happy together. Yeah, like he was the one." Harry also gushed about his mother in law: “Her mum's amazing." An expert has suggested Meghan's mother will "play a big role in creating a special Christmas " for her grandchildren this year.
Doria was with the couple when they were involved in a car chase through New York City over two hours after they left an awards ceremony in May. At the time they released a statement saying they and her mum Doria were involved in a "near catastrophic car chase" involving their yellow cab taxi and US paparazzi.
Doria Ragland was particularly "terrified" by the ordeal. Harry and Meghan said the pursuit could have been fatal, as they say it involved six blacked-out vehicles with unidentified people driving recklessly and endangering the convoy and everyone around them.

She was said to be "overjoyed" at the arrival of her granddaughter Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor and joined the couple in their £10.5million mansion in Montecito. The dedicated grandma previously flew to the UK for the arrival of grandson Archie back in May 2019.
Meghan’s mother appeared in the fourth episode of the Harry & Meghan docuseries, Meghan's beloved mum is understandably emotional while discussing the darkest time in her daughter's life. Wiping away tears, Doria heartbreakingly said she "couldn't protect" her daughter. She said: "I remember her telling me that, that she'd wanted to take her own life. And that really broke my heart because I knew that it was bad. To constantly be picked at by these vultures. Just picking away at her spirit. That she would think of not wanting to be here."
