With the Modern Warfare 3 beta over and done, players will now have to wait until the game's official release date on Friday, November 10 to jump into the latest Call of Duty title. But if you just can't wait, the good news is that Modern Warfare 3 campaign early access will be available ahead of launch. You can dive into the cinematic single-player mode over one week before the full game is released, giving you time to polish off the campaign before heading into multiplayer lobbies.
Activision revealed some juicy details about the Modern Warfare 3 campaign on its official blog back in August, confirming that the first mission is named 'Operation 627', and that players will be tasked with returning to the much-loved Verdansk area from the original Call of Duty: Warzone. This year's single-player campaign also introduces new Open Combat Missions, which forgoes the traditional linear experience and gives players freedom to complete these missions in a variety of ways.

Activision has confirmed via a tweet from the Call of Duty Twitter account that Modern Warfare 3 campaign early access will go live on Thursday, November 2 on all platforms, whether you're on PlayStation, Xbox or PC. The developer (now owned by Microsoft after its $69bn acquisition was confirmed earlier this month) has yet to confirm the exact time that campaign early access will begin, but we would expect it to go live around 4pm GMT / 12pm EDT / 9am PDT. Activision usually drops new content and updates around this time so that's our best guess until we get official confirmation.

You can get Modern Warfare 3 campaign early access by pre-ordering a digital version of the game; so whether it's the standard edition or the Vault Edition, either version of the game will get you campaign early access. Pre-ordering the physical version won't get you Modern Warfare 3 campaign early access, so if you want to complete the single-player mode before jumping into multiplayer on Friday, November 10, you'll have to pre-order digitally. If you do pre-order a digital version of the game, you'll be pleased to hear that every digital edition is cross-gen, meaning that if you pre-order on PlayStation, you'll be able to play on PS4 and PS5, and if you pre-order for Xbox consoles, you'll get access to both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game.
