Alison Hammond hits back after being labelled 'out of touch' for wearing 'Rolex'
Alison Hammond has set the record straight after a fan mistakenly thought she was wearing an expensive-looking jewellery on This Morning today.
The 48-year-old took to Twitter on Tuesday to respond to a follower's criticism over her 'Rolex', explaining that she was in fact donning a far less pricey watch to host the ITV breakfast show.
"I love watching @AlisonHammond but with the cost of living affecting us all, I find it uncomfortable seeing her wearing, what looks like a Rolex," the disgruntled viewer tweeted. Alison was quick to clear up the confusion, however, clarifying that the watch had been gifted to her by her mother and cost far less than the pieces from the Swiss designer brand.
"I wish !! It’s actually a Micheal Kors Watch my late mum bought me and it cost her £185 of her hard earned money . It means more to me than any Rolex," she replied. "Sorry you felt uncomfortable."

"Thank you mummy for giving me the strength to move forward in the knowledge that your ok and with God in Heaven now," Alison said in tribute to Maria. "I will always remember you and try and make you proud. I love you mum."
Alison's fans were quick to respond to her correction tweet, with many gushing over the Great British Bake Off star's sweet shout-out to her mother.
"What a special gift from a special lady. Hope you can always treasure it, much love to you, Alison," one person commented.

"Check and Mate. Well done Alison on a very measured response to a ridiculous tweet," one impressed follower wrote.
"Why are you responding to that? If people are uncomfortable with you no matter what it is, that's their problem, not yours. If you're not doing anything illegal or nasty, hold your head up high, QUEEN! People like that want to dim your light, we want you to continue shining!" another Alison supporter replied.
