Gabby Logan's heartbreaking regret over marriage to husband Kenny
Sports presenter Gabby Logan met Scottish rugby star Kenny in a bar in 1999, they were married two years later and have been side by side ever since. However, the former rhythmic gymnast, 50, does have one regret about their marriage and life together.
Speaking on the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast to former I’m A Celeb winner Giovanna Fletcher, Gabby described how the pair were naive when it came to fertility. Gabby and Kenny, 51, who welcomed twins Lois and Rueben via IVF in 2005, explained, “I thought I'd have more children, I always thought I'd have four children. Just the other night I said to Kenny, when we were talking about our empty house and the future, that we should have had more children."
The Welsh presenter conceded it might not be properly defined as a regret because the situation was largely out of her control due to fertility issues, but she revealed she often thinks: “How did that happen?” She added, “I think I know how it happened, because when you have twins as your firstborn, you think life's going to get back to normal and it never does."
"I mean, that's the same with everybody, but we were waiting for that day where we felt: ‘Everything's under control now. Now we can have another baby.'" She then added, “We should have just gone for it straight away”.
Gabby also opened up about her fertility issues in Women’s Health magazine, explaining that when the pair began trying for a baby following marriage she started to suspect something was wrong. “We were in our twenties and it didn't happen straight away. And it didn't after a year, and it didn't happen after 18 months…we went through all the tests, and it was unexplained fertility,' said Gabby. “And that was a really disappointing day to find that out, because, having been someone who was proactive with their health, I wanted to be told something that I could sort out and I was told to just carry on.”
Gabby had a difficult labour with her twins, Reuben and Lois, which lasted for 36 hours and it resulted in her haemorrhaging badly. She told the Daily Mail, “I began losing blood. I am not sure exactly what caused it, but haemorrhaging is a possible side effect of a multiple birth.”
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessShe went on to say that during labour she began to feel “extremely tired and as if I was drifting away” before she was rushed into theatre, surgeons battled for close to three hours to save her. Thankfully, Gabby and Kenny’s have two gorgeous children, who just turned 18 in July.
