Some of the UK's biggest retailers have recalled a number of products due to health and safety concerns.

Tesco, Poundland, Aldi, TK Maxx, Tesco, and Amazon are just a few retailers to have announced recalls recently. Products can be recalled for different reasons including safety, if a product displays risks for the customer, or quality, when the product isn't working as it should be.

Mirror Monday has compiled a full list of the recent recalls and the reason behind the move. We have also highlighted the steps you need to take if you have purchased one of these products.

Aldi - Teriyaki beef stir fry

Aldi has recalled its Ready Cook teriyaki beef stir fry because it contains wheat (gluten) which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with coeliac disease and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten.

The affected product comes in a 500g pack and its product code is 732863 and the barcode is 4088600571874. The batches which are affected by this notice include all stir fry products with a use-by date leading up to and of October 22 2023.

Tesco - Nuby penguin nightlight

The baby product company Nuby UK has recalled its Penguin Nightlight which has recently been sold at Tesco stores. The recall is due to a "potential weak point" at the bend in the cable head that may potentially result in a short - posing a safety risk to customers.

The affected product's full name is "Nuby Penguin Nightlight L-shape USB-C Cable" and its product code is 99616. Those who have bought this product have been told to contact Nuby customer services and request a free replacement cable.

Shoppers can contact Number through their email - [email protected] or their helpline on 0800 334 5844. You can also return the item to your local Tesco store where you will receive a full refund with no receipt needed.

Tesco - So Divine pearl vibrating love egg

The adult toy company So Devine has recalled its pearl-vibrating love egg which has recently been sold at Tesco stores. The affected product has an "internal fault" which causes the product to warm up if the batteries are inserted incorrectly. This potentially causes a burn risk to customers.

The affected product is the J1202-01 model with the batch code of BN2303. If you have purchased this product, you can either return it to your local Tesco store to receive a full refund - again you will not need a receipt.

TK Maxx & Homesense - Biscotti Darlings

TK Maxx and its sister company Homesense have recalled its Biscotti Darlings, which are biscuits filled with strawberry cream, due to mould being found in the product which could cause a potential safety issue.

The product was on sale in TK Maxx and Homesense stores between May 1, 2023, to June 30, 2023. The batch number shown on the product will be 030323 and 052523.

If you purchased the biscuits then you can return them to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund.

TK Maxx - Rainbow Road books

TK Maxx has recalled its Rainbow Road children's books due to it not meeting the manufacturer's "stringent requirements for the UK and EU market". According to TK Maxx, the circular binding rings for the books can be torn free, potentially posing a choking hazard.

TK Maxx has urged customers to "stop using" the product and return it to their local store for a full refund.

TK Maxx - L+W Bio Hot Blow Brush

TK Maxx has also recalled its L+W Bio Hot Blow Brush. The recall comes after the plug cord for the product "does not meet required safety standards" so is a potential fire hazard.

The product was on sale in both TK Maxx and Homesense stores, and online between July and September 2023. The items affected by the recall have the product code of LW-1148UK or LW-1694UK. The items will also have one of the following codes on its price sticker:

Again, customers can return the item to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund.

Poundland - Creepy town hanging ghost

The Office for Product Safety and Standards is recalling the creepy town-hanging ghost sold by Poundland.

The reason behind the recall is that the product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005 as it "poses a risk of cuts" as it features sharp metal wires that can become easily exposed.

The product code for this item is 814437 and the barcode is 5045733253472. Those who have bought the item can return it to their local Poundland store for a full refund, again no receipt will be needed.

Amazon - Licus Girls royal vampire Halloween costume

Warning as Poundland, TKMaxx, Tesco, and Amazon urgently recall productsThe Halloween costume has been recalled due to a "serious risk of entrapment."

The Office for Product Safety and Standards is recalling the girl's royal vampire Halloween costume from Licus, which is sold on Amazon. The recall was due to a "serious risk of entrapment."

The Office for Product and Safety Standards says: "The product presents a serious risk of entrapment as when the waist area of the dress is stretched out both free ends of the ribbon/cord measured 175mm ± 10mm, exceeding the specified maximum of 140mm (14cm).

"Some of the required documentation and markings were not present. The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations2011 (Consumer Protection Act 1987) or the General Product Safety Regulations 2005."

The product is model number G-0108 and its Amazon ASIN numbers are B0755CNP98 and B0755D6X4X. The item has now been removed from Amazon and is being recalled.

According to Amazon's website, customers who have bought the product will receive an email which will advise them of the measures to put in place.

A second Halloween costume sold by Amazon has also been recalled. This recall is for the orange-purple witch Halloween costume by Spooktacular Creations.

The recall is due to the costume having a "serious risk of choking". During tension testing, the two buttons on the shawl "detached when forces less than the specified minimum of 90N were applied". The detached buttons were then found to fit entirely into a small parts cylinder and therefore posed a potential choking hazard to young children.

Alongside this, the product was also found to present a risk of strangulation as the fabric belt features a cord that has been measured to exceed the maximum length of 300mm - meaning it does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011 (Consumer Protection Act 1987).

The Amazon ASIN numbers are B08LK5DJ26 and/or B08BWJTZH3. The other identifier for the item is: 20290-3T 8 40165 804996. The listing has been removed from Amazon.
