John Fury opens up on meeting son Tommy's mum while still married to Tyson's mum

John Fury has admitted he met Tommy Fury 's mum whilst still married to his first wife Amber, who is the mum of heavyweight champion Tyson.

John is the dad of both Tommy and Tyson but the boxers have different mums, making them half-brothers. Little is known about Tyson's mum Amber as she has never attended any of his fights at amateur or professional level, vowing to stay out of the public eye.

In his new autobiography 'When Fury Takes Over: Life, the Furys and Me', John explained how he met Tommy's mum Chantal. "My first wife Amber and I had a rocky patch and, following one particularly ugly argument, she went to live with her parents to give us both some space. She stayed away for six months, and in her absence I began seeing Chantal, who in time was to become my son Tommy’s mum," he wrote.

"The relationship blossomed and deepened; in fact I’m still with this fine woman today all these years on. Chantal became pregnant early in our relationship and it was with a lump in my throat that I made my confession to Amber and told all my sons from my first marriage that they had a new half-brother on the way."

Chantal also later welcomed another son into the world with John in Roman, who made his professional boxing debut last year. John admitted that telling Amber about his two new sons from a different relationship was hard, stating: "It wasn’t an easy pill to swallow but, for the most part over the years, they’ve been very accepting of my two sons from this new family, Roman and Tommy.

"It was vital that my older boys knew just how much I still loved them, despite the arrival of their first half-brother, and I told them, ‘I will never leave you. I will never forsake you. I will clothe you, feed you, drive you where you need to be, and be here for you until I take my last breath.’"

John is in Saudi Arabia for Tyson's crossover fight against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou. Tyson's heavyweight title won't be on the line as Ngannou isn't ranked by the WBC and the Brit has already signed a deal to face Oleksandr Usyk as they could fight just two days before Christmas.

When Fury Takes Over, by John Fury, is out on Thursday.
