Emmerdale star teases Robert Sugden return as he hopes to 'talk round' co-star

Emmerdale fans could finally get a Robron reunion after four years, if one ITV soap star has their way.

Aaron Dingle actor Danny Miller confessed he wants former co-star and pal Ryan Hawley to return to the show as Aaron's ex-husband Robert Sugden. Robert left the show back in 2019 after being sent to prison over the death of Lee Posner.

Robert accidentally caused Lee's death after he attacked him, following Lee horrifically raping his sister Victoria Sugden. Robert faced up to his crime and cut all ties with the village and his loved ones as he was sentenced.

But viewers have long hoped he may return, especially after hints that Robert may not have caused his death. Lee obtained injuries to his head when he was punched, but it emerged Lee had also been hit by his brother Luke and that might have led to his death.

Viewers are not the only ones keen for him to be released though, with actor Danny confessing he too wants Ryan back on the show as Robert. He admitted he's keen to talk his co-star round, and get him to make a soap comeback.

Emmerdale's Aaron Dingle actor Danny Miller confessed he hopes to convince former co-star Ryan Hawley to return to the ITV soap (ITV)

Speaking to TV Times magazine, Danny said: "I'm still great friends with Ryan Hawley [who memorably played Aaron's husband, Robert Sugden]. Adam Thomas [AKA Adam Barton] is off doing his own thing, as is Kelvin Fletcher [who portrayed Andy Sugden], but we're all still very close.

"I think if I could pick one person, though, I'd love to work with Ryan again. It's just a case of if I can talk him round. Every single day I get a video or message saying 'Bring back Robron!'. It's nearly four years since Ryan left the show and I'm amazed that people are so invested in it. Fingers crossed we can get the band back together at some point."

It comes following his own return to the soap this month, a year on from him seemingly leaving for good. His character Aaron has certainly changed during his time away, with his grief for his sister Liv Flaherty, who died last October on the soap, sending him spiralling.
