Mum-of-three Helen Flanagan said she had to apologise to her kids as she confessed she's 'not being the mother she wants to be.'

The 33-year-old Corrie star shared the struggles she faces as a single mum, admitting she would often feel 'touched out' and 'stressed.' She added she never feels ashamed to admit when she's in the wrong. Helen co-parents her children with former boyfriend and footballer Scott Sinclair after the pair separated last year.

Helen, who is mum to Matilda, eight, Delilah, five, and Charlie, two, took to her Instagram stories to re-share a post from the pregnancy and motherhood app, Peanut. which said: "I'm okay with saying sorry to my kids because some days I'm not the mother that I want to be."

"Some days I'm touched out and overwhelmed. I'm far from perfect and I want my kids to know that's okay. You can apologise and start again. We all have our moments, but we got this," the post read.

It comes after the former Coronation Street star seemingly took aim at ex-fiancé in a cryptic post about 'hurt' wives. She shared a quote written by self-help specialist Dr. John Delony to her followers and it was presented without comment or context.

The message stated: “Husbands: When you see your wife in pain or struggling, know this: She isn’t broken. She’s hurting. She doesn’t need your solutions. She doesn’t need you to tell her what she should do."

The message continued: "She needs you to ask: ‘What are one or two ways I can best love you right now?’ She is the expert on her needs, not you. Love by listening, not telling.” Helen and Scott were never married - but had become engaged in 2018 before their romance collapsed last year.

Opening up about her split, Helen previously said it wasn't meant to be and the pair will remain friends. She said: "I was with my ex from 19 until 31, and he was like my one. I remember when we first got together, I was so in love with him. He was the best thing that ever happened to me really because he was my life.

"We had a really nice relationship, it was really special. We were just meant to be and obviously, we had three children together. [But] towards the end we just grew apart."
