Greg Rutherford recently confirmed he will take part in the upcoming series of Dancing on Ice and the former Olympian has revealed what he hopes to do differently compared to his time on Strictly Come Dancing.

The athlete was paired with professional dancer Natalie Lowe and the dancing couple finished in seventh place, but Greg hopes to stay in the competition longer when he takes to the ice.

Greg told The Mirror why he decided to sign up to Dancing on Ice after previously taking part in the BBC's dancing competition. He said: "When I did Strictly I'd never danced to step in my life and learning how the body is meant to look and arm movements, all that sort of stuff was so alien to me and I really, really struggled with all that sort of finesse side of things, I wasn't very good at it at all.

"It's difficult to get your head around when you've never had to move like that now. Coming into [Dancing on Ice] I'm not the most graceful looking thing in the world, I'm relatively big, I never look as stylish as some of the other people, but I feel like once we get onto that side of things, I’ve put my body in those positions, hopefully, it doesn't feel as alien as it did previously. The idea is that on this show, I want to try and push it on a bit further than what I did on Strictly. The way I see it as well, it's a sport and I'm pretty good at learning sports and always have been.

"This feels like this is one that I can push on a bit more and hopefully, after the next few months, I can start doing some really special things with a partner and I want to be able to throw the partner around and just really go for it. So that's what I'm hoping I can do at this and just be better than I was on Strictly."

Greg is currently working with kids' yoghurt favourite, Petits Filous, to help parents maintain their children’s immunity. Speaking about the campaign he said: "We want to try and make sure you can minimize the amount that children get ill in these autumn months.

"One of the statistics [from Petits Filous’ research] 30 percent of parents are struggling with their kids getting ill every two to three weeks, which as much as even we try that definitely still does happen in our household as well, so getting in the right vitamins and minerals and everything else was a really important thing. With kids it’s that bit more difficult because of flavours, taste, texture so then when you've got something like Petits Filous, which is fortified with vitamin D, that's a really easy way to help them combat that likelihood of getting ill and their ability to fight illness.

"In our household our kids all absolutely love it and I'll be honest, I often steal them as well because I am a big fan of them. It's about trying to help parents understand and give them the information really to help them combat what is a really frustrating time of the year when people are getting ill."

During half term, if families visit Westfield Shepherds Bush on 25th October & The Trafford Centre on 26th October, kids will be able to enjoy Petits Filous pots which are fortified with vitamin D* to help maintain immunity during peak germ weeks.
