A remake of the SNES classic Super Mario RPG is hitting Nintendo Switch in just under a month, and Currys have launched the best deal on pre-orders yet.

You would think Super Mario was done for the year after Super Mario Bros. Wonder (which we gave 5/5 in our review), but on November 17, 2023 we're getting a remake of one of the plumber's most iconic adventures. Super Mario RPG is a remake of the SNES classic, completely remaking the visuals, music, and gameplay to bring it up to Nintendo Switch standards.

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars first launched back in 1996 in Japan and the US, with Europe missing out on a release until the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console in 2008. The game was developed by SquareSoft (who are now Square Enix) and set the blueprint for all future Mario RPGs like the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi series.

Super Mario RPG pre-orders are typically £49.99, but once again Currys has come in with a fantastic pre-order deal ahead of launch. With the Super Mario RPG pre-order dropping down an extra 20% to £39.99 with the use of a promo code.

  • Super Mario RPG at Currys – £29.99 with the promo code SUPER20

To use this code you'll have to add the game to your basket and go through the usual checkout method. Once you reach the section labelled 'Payment Methods' there's an option to "Add a discount/promo code or gift card". Click on that option and you'll be prompted to enter a promo code, type in SUPER20 and the subtotal will drop down to £39.99.

Super Mario RPG launches on November 17, 2023 exclusively on Nintendo Switch, and considering how long it typically takes for Nintendo games to go on sale, it's worth taking advantage of this deal if you want to grab the game for cheap.

This deal brings Super Mario RPG pre-orders down to the lowest price we've seen it yet. It is worth noting that Currys don't seem to be offering any pre-order bonuses, like the Geno keychain at Game or the bonus poster at ShopTo.

It's also worth pointing out that while it's not present on the page for the Super Mario RPG pre-order on Currys, past Currys pre-order deals – like Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 – have mentioned you may receive the game late if you live in certain areas like the Scottish Highlands or Isle of Man.
