Man scoffs expensive food and fakes heart attack to skip bill at 20 restaurants
A conniving conman faked a heart attack in 20 different restaurants to avoid paying the bill.
The thief, named only as Aidas J, staged the fake medical emergencies at a string of eateries in Alicante, Spain. The Lithuanian would fall to floor and clutch his chest in his mock agony act. He was finally snared after he tried it on one too many times. Restaurant El Buen Comer nearly fell for the scam and has now hit out at Aidas who has since been arrested, Star Online reports.
The restaurant's general manager explained how staff members were aware of his antics, as he had scammed them before, so he was unable to pull the wool over their eyes a second time. They said: "It was very theatrical, he pretended to faint and slumped himself down on the floor."
Another restaurant worker from El Pais claimed he "lay down on the floor, acted as if his chest hurt and began to shake". Police said Aidas would dress up in "designer clothes" and pretend to be a Russian tourist to carry out his swindle.

He would skip bills of between £10 to £60 so they were classed as 'petty crimes' but in total he managed to make off with £666 worth of food which landed him behind bars. His crime spree lasted two months and he was arrested several times, but was released soon after due to the small amount owed.

He has now been jailed for 42 days after refusing to pay two fines he was slapped with. El Buen Comer has sent Aidas' picture out to other restaurants in the hopes of preventing him from "striking again".
