Nate Diaz demands rematch with Jake Paul as YouTuber announces return

Nate Diaz has called for a rematch against Jake Paul after the YouTube boxer announced his return to the ring in December.

Paul will fight for the third time this year on December 15 but he is still without an opponent for his next fight. 'The Problem Child' tasted defeat for the first time in February when he lost a split decision to Love Island star Tommy Fury but has since returned to winning ways by beating Diaz in August.

Diaz posted a mocked-up fight poster of a rematch between him and Paul whilst goading his rival by writing: "Rematch with this scared b****." Twitter community notes were quick to inform fans that Diaz's post was untrue as a reply read: "This is false. After Jake Paul already defeated Nate Diaz, there has been no confirmation of a rematch. Jake Paul is returning on December 15, no opponent has been announced. This is a misleading post. Nate Diaz is demanding for a rematch, but it’s not happening as of now."

Paul claimed that Diaz agreed to a $10million offer to rematch him in MMA after their fight, but the fight is seemingly off the table as negotiations broke down. The YouTuber, who signed with the PFL at the beginning of the year, thinks Diaz didn't want to fight him in MMA because he was scared of losing.

"I tried to fight Nate, we tried everything, He was just making such big requests behind the scenes. I think it's too big of a risk [for him]. Ok it's $10million but if he loses to me, it's like legacy. He is going to get made fun of. He felt my power and I don't think he will be able to take me down, so he couldn't submit me," Paul said on the Full Send podcast.

"It's kind of a lose-lose situation for him, so that's why behind the scenes on the business side of things he is making such outrageous claims and wanting unrealistic things. That's the problem with fighting, people can just hide behind contracts and say that's the reason they didn't want to fight. Nate is ducking me, he's not gonna get that much money unless he fights Conor [McGregor]."

Diaz fired back at Paul's claims by tweeting: "You're full of s***, I didn’t ask for s***. I’ll fight you tomorrow in MMA the problem is you suck and I don’t work for [PFL] dumb*** you do. Rematch is in boxing trilogy is in MMA you need time to train anyway you suck. New Year’s Eve is good."
