An ITV and Channel 4 reality TV couple detailed their "misfortune" as they got candid about their "painful, raw and uncertain" struggles with infertility.

Love Island's Connagh Howard and The Circle's Beth Dunlavey opened up about their struggles, explaining that their desire to start a family has "consumed" their lives and their relationship for two years. Beth sobbed in an open and honest video about the pair's recent years which she says are "full of grief".

Penning an explanation on Instagram in a joint post, the two admitted keeping the whole ordeal a secret, with Beth saying it's been "killing" her. Connagh explains in their YouTube video that they have been trying to have a baby for two years.

In the post's caption, Beth wrote: "There's something we haven't been telling you and it's been killing me because you know how much I love to share with you. I'd like to say for the last 3 months but really, it's been for the last 2 years.

"It's consumed our life and relationship. This journey, if you've been misfortunate enough to have to go through it too, is painful, raw, uncertain and full of grief but we do it because all we seek is the family we know we deserve to have.

"I hope, if you need it, you find some solace in my sharing and if you're lucky enough not to, I hope sharing my journey will inform & shed light on the stark reality of infertility for many couples." In the video she admits being "angry and bitter".

"It's been so out of our control," she added. They hope to document their fertility journey and are already 10 months into the process, uploading episode one to Beth's YouTube channel and on the pair's Instagram.

Fans flocked to the first instalment's comments section to wish the couple well after the emotional revelation. One wrote: "I'm sorry you’re going through this. I'd strongly recommend the BFN podcast if you're interested in reliable and helpful resources about fertility and specifically about ivf. I'll keep everything crossed for you both, good luck."

While another said: "May god bless you both on this new journey! Praying for you both!" Another said: "Praying for you both and this journey." Influencer Sophie Danvers wrote: "Ahh I bloomin love you girl!! So brave, open and honest.

"You'll be helping so many people talking about this and being able to follow your journey! You're amazing," she added. Another fan explained: "Sending you so much love lovely. Infertility is so cruel. We tried for 4 years until we finally had our IVF miracle.

"That feeling of being out of control and resenting your body so much. It never leaves you. You are so brave to share your journey and I can't tell you how being open like this will help you process what's happening, as well as helping others too."
