Tom Cruise was 'hurt' by the Beckhams

Tom Cruise was "hurt" after being ditched by former pals David Beckham and Victoria Beckham and has "no intent" to see them again, according to a source.

The trio became close friends when Posh and Becks moved to Los Angeles in 2007 for the footballer to play with the LA Galaxy. David and Victoria would often grab headlines as they were pictured on nights out with Tom and his then-wife Katie Holmes.

However, a source has now revealed Tom has drifted apart from David and Victoria, and the ex-friends reportedly no longer speak. The source claimed the decision is related to Tom's involvement in the Church of Scientology.

Scientology is a set of beliefs and practices that were invested by American author L. Ron Hubbard and has gone on to become a global church. The core belief of the Church of Scientology is that a human is an immortal, spiritual being – called a thetan – that is just a resident in a physical body – so essentially we rent, not own, our bodies.

The thetan has had innumerable past lives, some preceding the thetan’s arrival on Earth. Tom is one of the most famous members and ambassadors of the church and he is believed to be treated in an almost God-like way by members.

Speaking about Tom's former friendship with David and Victoria, the source claimed: "Tom did everything for them when they first moved to LA. He practically gave them the keys to the city. He threw them a party to meet everyone important, and the moment they were established they chucked him!"

The source added: "He's still angry and has no intention of being friends again. David and Victoria tested the waters a while ago, but Tom ignored them — so it makes sense they haven't invited him to anything. Tom clearly thinks they should have tried harder."

They said Tom "wouldn't take no for an answer" as he tried to convince David and Victoria to join Scientology. The source told Radar Online that the Beckhams felt they had "no choice but to pull away" as they said Tom was very persistent.

However, he's believed to have been "hurt" by the rejection. The Mirror has approached representatives for Tom, David and Victoria for comment.
