Katie Price pays tribute to terminally ill mum Amy with sweet nod to Harvey

Katie Price has paid tribute to her mother on her 71st birthday, just a few months after the the mum-of-two underwent a lung transport for her terminal illness.

The 45-year-old took to Instagram on Tuesday morning to share the heartfelt message, which included a photo Amy holding up a handmade birthday card from her grandson, Harvey. Katie shares eldest child Harvey, 21, with former Manchester United footballer Dwight Yorke.

"Happy Birthday Mum!! 71 today! We love you so much!!" Katie captioned the touching picture, which she also shared to her Story. The 24-hour-long post echoed the same birthday words along with the addition of three pink love hearts. "PS, this is her favourite song," Katie added, sharing an upbeat pop tune to the soundtrack to the Story.

"To Nanny," the card reads. "Happy birthday. Love from Harvey xxx." The sweet message also thanks Amy for looking after her family members and includes an adorable, "Ribbet, ribbet," to accompany the drawing of a giant frog in a pond surrounded by flowers. An illustration of a birthday cake has also been added to the top righthand corner, while a vibrant rainbow has been drawn in the background.

Amy has suffered from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) a condition where the lungs develop scarring and breathing is disrupted, since 2017. In July 2023, she revealed she'd been given a "second chance at life" after receiving a lung transplant. "I really jumped at it,” she said, referring to her reaction to being offered the operation. "It hasn’t been simple, it hasn’t been easy. There’s a lot that’s gone wrong with me, which the transplant people anticipate because it’s quite hard having a new organ in your body."

Amy elaborated on her medical ordeal in an interview on The Katie Price Show in July, revealing to her famous daughter that she even momentarily died when she was on the operating table. "Apparently I was shouting out, 'I can't breathe, I can't breathe, they're killing me'," she recalled. “That's because I was filling up with blood but what I can remember was dreaming, thinking, 'I've got to survive till five o'clock. They're trying to kill me.

“I'm hot, I'm sweaty, I can't breathe. I thought, 'Five o'clock, the nurses change so these two nurses, people that are trying to kill me, right, they go home. So I was counting strips on the wall, thinking, 'Right as I'll do that one, breathe slower and then you save your energy a bit more.'"
