Dillon Danis has revealed he was paid over $1million for his fight with Logan Paul last weekend.

MMA fighter Danis took on YouTuber Paul in a bitter grudge fight which failed to live up to the hype. Danis barely threw a punch through five completed rounds before attempting to choke out Paul in the final session, a move which prompted security guards to flood the ring.

The fight was stopped and Danis disqualified with Paul announced as having won the first five rounds and declared the winner. Danis has since said he plans to appeal the result, insisting Paul should have been disqualified for punching him while he lay on the canvas.

Now, appearing on Piers Morgan's talkTV show, Danis revealed his purse for his boxing debut will be over $1m (£823,000). Asked about a pre-fight bet he made with Paul in which he agreed to hand over his purse if he lost, Danis said: "We are making an appeal though, so it might be a win for me because he punched me on the ground, the appeal might say I'm the winner."

Morgan produced a mock blank cheque written to Paul and asked Danis how much he was paid, to which he replied: "Over a million." Danis more than played his part in the build-up to the Misfits Prime show which also featured Tommy Fury taking on KSI.

Danis embarked on a vicious trolling campaign against Paul and his fiancee, Nina Agdal, forcing Ms. Agdal to take legal action and secure a restraining order against the fighter. And Paul and Danis have continued their back-and-forth since the final bell.

Taking to social media, Paul wrote: "I think Dillion perfectly embodies the problem with society. All s*** talk behind a screen. No action. Just another peasant running his mouth contributing nothing to this world but negativity. So happy I got to expose this clown."

Danis responded: "What did you prove? You didn't even tickle me. You backed out of an MMA fight against me. Everyone knew I'm not a boxer, but unlike others, I took on the challenge even with everything in your favour: weight, steroids, rounds, rules, judges, referees... the list goes on. I won the war." Paul has consistently denied taking performance-enhancing drugs.
