Early pay-per-view buy rates suggest KSI vs Tommy Fury is the best-selling boxing event of this year so far.

Love Island star Fury improved his professional record to 10-0 by avoiding an embarrassing defeat to YouTube boxer KSI in their fight at the Manchester Arena this past weekend. The grudge fight failed to live up to the hype as the rivals did more clinching than boxing with KSI claiming he was "robbed" of a win after six rounds.

Two judges scored the fight in favour of Fury with one judge scoring it a draw, but the majority decision was later changed to a unanimous decision after judge Rafael Ramos failed to add his scores together properly. KSI is still expected to appeal the defeat with the Professional Boxing Association, who sanctioned the event.

Social media channel Happy Punch has now claimed the event sold a whopping 1.3million pay-per-view buys, meaning it would beat Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia as this year's highest-selling boxing card. It would also mean KSI has a one-up over his bitter rival Jake Paul, as his fight against Fury in February sold 800,000 buys.

The potentially huge pay-per-view figure was inevitably helped by the second instalment of the 'double main event' between Logan Paul and Dillon Danis. Their fight was largely overshadowed by Danis taking aim at Paul's fiancee Nina Agdal in the pre-fight build-up as she launched a $150,000 lawsuit and Temporary Restraining Order against Danis because of his social media posts about her.

Danis was disqualified from his fight with Paul after attempting to choke him out in the final round. The longtime teammate of Conor McGregor barely threw any punches before a brawl broke out in the ring which brought the fight to an early finish. Official punch stats show that Paul out-landed Danis by almost 100 punches over the course of the fight before it was stopped.

Danis has since claimed responsibility for the event selling 1.3million buys as he wrote on Instagram: "The Dillon Danis show. If it wasn't for me no one would have watched the fight. Dillon hyped it up more than the two biggest YouTubers in history." McGregor also praised Danis for his performance by stating he was "impressed" with what he saw despite fans criticising the Bellator MMA star for his lack of output.
