Coronation Street have confirmed a second person will be arrested next week in the fall out to serial killer Stephen Reid's exit from the ITV soap

Michael Bailey will be arrested on Coronation Street next week - as the fall out from serial killer Stephen Reid's exit continues.

As part of Stephen's (Todd Boyce) bid to get away from Weatherfield, he used Michael's code to get access to the company funds. Stephen managed to steal all the money but he was stopped in his tracks by Peter Barlow, who ran him over.

Next week on the ITV soap, having placed £1000 on a horse, Ed watches the race with nerves. However, he is thrilled when he ends up winning, and arriving home, he puts the cash in a big and hides it from Dee-Dee and Michael.

Michael, meanwhile, is adamant to get his job at Underworld back and takes the bag with him to the factory. He is stopped by DS Swain, who wants to question him about the money Stephen has stolen. Having answered her questions, he opens his bag and is shocked to find the money in there, wondering where it has come from.

Realising he's now in hot water, DS Swain takes him away in a police car, accusing him of working with Stephen to defraud Underworld. Will Ed come clean about where the money has really comes from?

Elsewhere, Chris Gascoyne has revealed his character Peter will be arrested for Stephen's death in scenes airing this week. "It was Iain the producer who told me and I was not expecting it that’s for sure. But I was pleased and I was keen to see how the story would pan out. When I read it I loved that it kind of came out of nowhere, hopefully it was not something that the audience was expecting. They knew that Peter was angry and was looking for Stephen but although he had tried to beat him up at the flat I don’t think anyone saw that last moment coming until it happened. Peter was one of the few people who was not on the street at that point and then he came out of nowhere," he explained of what's to come.

Chris has teased that it will be a "turbulent time ahead" for Peter, he said: "He is shocked that he is being arrested and questioned for murder, as the week starts he is certain that he saved Jenny’s life and he can't understand why he is being asked about his motivation for running him over. At this point that is his frame of mind and he is still feeling a certain amount of justification for what he did.
