Former Radio 1 DJ Tim Westwood was confronted by an angry comedian in a park after denying allegations of sexual misconduct against him.

Sapphire McIntosh filmed the confrontation with the ex-BBC star and uploaded his reaction to TikTok. The allegations of sexual misconduct are said to have taken place between 1982 and 2016 in London. The star has been interviewed under caution over five alleged sex offences which span 36 years, but he was not arrested.

Last year Westwood denied "all allegations of wrongdoing", after he was accused of sexual misconduct against women. He swiftly stepped down from his show on Capital Xtra in April last year after an investigation was launched. An independent inquiry, led by barrister Gemma White KC, was then set up the confidential phone line in a bid to “expand the ways in which people can come forward” to report information.

Sapphire can be heard grilling him after bumping into the 66-year-old. She asks: "Why do you think it has always been OK to sexually assault black women?" He replies: "Please... please" as he walks away. The woman then asks: "Is it because we are less than? Do you think we're not worth it?"

Westwood stops and responds: "Baby... it's all false allegations." After she demands he "doesn't call me baby," he repeats his denial before saying "allow it". Sapphire then says: "Allow what?" After she continues with her questioning, he barks back: "I have never done that. Period. They are all false allegations."

She says: "So they were all lying?" Westwood, walking away, responds: "And I will prove that. As soon as I get my opportunity, I am ready." After again demanding the woman "allows it" - a slang term for ceasing to doing something - he puts his headphones back on and walks away before the comedian shouts one last time.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police back in August last year, which did not name the DJ, read: "Detectives from the Met’s Central Specialist Crime continue to investigate four reports relating to allegations of non-recent sexual offences allegedly committed by a man.

"The offences are alleged to have occurred in London in 1982, 1985, 2010 and 2016. There have been no arrests, enquiries continue. We would appeal to anyone who has been the victim of sexual crime to contact police, your complaint will be thoroughly investigated and you will be supported by specialist officers."

The BBC undertook an internal investigation into allegations of bullying and sexual misconduct and are expected to publish the findings soon. BBC’s director general, Tim Davie, had initially insisted that in its records the BBC had "no evidence of complaints" against Westwood. The corporation later confirmed it had received six complaints of bullying and sexual misconduct, one of which had been passed to the police at the time.

The DJ's Representative said in a statement to the PA: "Tim Westwood strongly denies all allegations of inappropriate behaviour. In a career that has spanned 40 years, there have never been any complaints made against him officially or unofficially. Tim Westwood strongly rejects all allegations of wrongdoing."
