Corrie's Tim Metcalfe star says fans 'should be worried' amid death fears

Coronation Street's Joe Duttine has opened up about his future on the show amid Tim Metcalfe's storyline.

At the end of Friday's episode of Coronation Street, we saw that Tim – who had been attacked by serial killer Stephen and locked in his taxi boot – was still alive and there was hope he might survive the ordeal. However, Stephen died before telling anyone where Tim is, so will they be able to find him in time?

Joe has now spoken out about his possible exit from the ITV soap, warning that he is still at risk. Tim was the first to work out what Stephen had done, leading to the killer attacking him, before Stephen himself was later killed by Peter Barlow.

Speaking about whether fans should be worried for Tim, he said: "Yeah, absolutely they should be worried about him," before adding of his future on the show: "I never get worried about that [being written out]. I'm sure one day he will reach an end but I'm just enjoying the ride at the minute. I like whatever they throw at me. I just take it as a gift and a challenge."

Joe also revealed to the Liverpool Echo that he loves working with Sally Dynevor, who plays his on-screen wife.

"I love all the scenes I get to have with Sally. We've worked with each-other now for 10 years or so and we just get on as people, we understand each other's rhythms and I think we've got nice chemistry," he added.

Sally previously spoke about how her character's concerns over Tim grew, especially when police found his wallet. She said: "After the canal, they go to the police station and they tell the police everything they know, and say, 'Is that body Tim's?' Sally comes out with it and just says, 'You have to tell me, he's my husband.' ....

"She takes her through to the back and she says, 'Look, we did find this,' and it's Tim's wallet that Sally got him for [their] anniversary. So then, obviously, Sally's really, really worried, and then I'm sure she really believes that Stephen has got something to do with this. She's confused by it all; what happened? Is he still alive? Has Stephen got him?"
