There was travel chaos for passengers today as hundreds were left trapped on trains after a points failure at London Euston with all lines blocked.
The major disruption to and from the capital is now continues with those on board earlier unable to get information after reporting their trains were not moving.
Around 60,000 fans were trying to get to Tottenham for the NFL game between Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans. More than 35,000 fans are expected at the Emirates Stadium for Arsenal Women's clash with Aston Villa as some reported having to miss the events.
The operator originally confirmed: "A point failure at London Euston means all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running to / from this station may be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes. Major disruption is expected to continue until 13:00."
Passengers have been told service will be terminating early and will no longer be stopping at certain stations. Many have taken to social media to register their frustration after a challenging morning across the country.

One wrote: "An absolute disgrace! First train delayed from Rugby to London Euston. When it turned up we were told to get off at Northampton. Finally got on a later train for us to get to Bletchley to again be told we need to get off as there is no signal to London Euston."
Network Rail apologised to customers following a day of disruption.
Lines are now open but severe delays are expected for the rest of the day.
They said in a statement: "We're sorry for the disruption to services in and out of London Euston earlier today while our engineers repaired a fault with the signalling system in the area."
Staff at Euston remain in a state on confusion, it is being reported.
BBC journalist Alex Smith has been at the station this afternoon and said: "I've spoken to some staff who say that they don't know what trains are turning up between platforms one and seven, and where they are going to - resulting in numerous, last-minute dashes for trains as they get announced.
"It is absolute chaos."
Network Rail have given an unwanted update saying the rail issue will continue for at least another three hours.
There will now be no trains in and out of the station until 3.30pm at the earliest. They originally hoped the situation would be resolved by 1pm.
"Major disruption is expected to continue until 15:30," the update read.
Passengers could at least get some money back following today's chaos on the rails.
"You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today," their statement read.
"Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim."
Some of the passengers attempting to travel to London fear they could miss today's big NFL match.
Baltimore Ravens face Tennessee Titans at Tottenham's stadium this afternoon.
Many are on the way from all parts of the country and face an agonising wait to see if they will be there for the 2.30pm kick-off.
Network Rail hope to have the issue resolved by 1pm.
They say major disruption is expected to continue beyond lunchtime but have yet to provide further details but did say severely delayed by up to 90 minutes are likely.
They say customers will be updates as soon as the issue is resolved.
Avanti West Coast between Euston and Wolverhampton, Manchester Piccadilly, Glasgow Central and Edinburgh are impacted.
London Northwestern Railway between London Euston and Northampton and Birmingham New Street will also be delayed, as will the London Overground between London Euston and Watford Junction.
Network Rail staff are on site investigating the failure, meaning lines are currently blocked.
Passengers first reported that trains had come to a standstill at around 10.45am.
Many took to social media to complain about a lack of information.
One said they were waiting for more than half an hour having not been told any details by staff or online.
