Abbey Clancy recalled how husband Peter Crouch left her in tears during a recent row in which he told her she was "ruining his life."

The famous couple, who married in June 2011, often share an insight into their personal lives - from raising their four children together, to their bedroom secrets - with listeners on their podcast, The Therapy Crouch.

Recently, the former English footballer lifted the lid on one of the struggles he and Abbey faced in their relationship when he had to compromise after the 37-year-old model wanted a puppy, despite his objection to the idea.

Speaking to The Guardian, Abbey revealed that received a text from Peter that read: "I love you but you are ruining my life."

Peter added: "I was being serious. But at least I said I love you."

The duo introduced their latest addition to their family earlier this month. Abbey gave fans a glimpse of their new puppy – but it quickly descended into carnage. As 37-year-old Abbey put the pup down on the floor because she thought he needed a wee, he ended up doing something even worse.

A distracted Abbey said: “I’m going to put him down,” to which Peter joked: “You going to put him down? F***ing hell, that’s a bit harsh.” Fans were then left wondering what the dog had done next as Abbey was heard saying: “This is not happening. This is not happening right now.”

A gutted Abbey then explained: “Going back to that question, do you want to put the dog down. Yes I am, because the dog has just knocked a full glass of Ribena on my white silk rug.” The former footballer then joked: “This wouldn’t have happened if you didn’t get the dog”

Earlier this year, Abbey shared Peter has a secret code he sends to her via text to initiate the pair having intimate alone time together. She explained: "If the kids go to school and he hears me like, put the key in the door, I'm in and no one's in the house, I just get a beaver and an aubergine emoji text. I'm not even gonna say the last one but you can imagine what it is."

After a nudge from Peter, Abbey revealed it was the water emoji. She added: "How vile is that? Am I supposed to go, 'Oh yeah, now I'm bang up for it.'"
