Tommy Fury avoided an embarrassing defeat as he outpointed YouTuber KSI in their grudge fight.

Fury was looking for to improve his unbeaten professional record to 10 fights without defeat and vowed to end the influencer boxing scene following his split decision win against Jake Paul in February. KSI was facing a big step-up in competition having mostly fought fellow influencers since his return to the ring in a farcical ‘two fights in one night event’ last August.

But the Londoner was left crying "robbery" after two of the three judges gave Fury the nod, despite the brother of heavyweight world champion Tyson having a point deducted by the referee.

KSI opened up by showing little defence with his trademark karate stance and with his hands by his waist. The opening round was scrappy and KSI was complaining to the referee about a shot to the back of the head from Fury.

Fury was deducted a point in the second round after landing more punches to the back of KSI’s head. There was more holding than boxing and fans at the Manchester Arena were beginning to grow restless come the midway point of the fight.

KSI wasn’t landing anything of note and he was beginning to look tired in the fourth round. Fury was having more success with his jab after struggling to land it in the opening sessions but any rhythm he did gain was disrupted by KSI clinching.

It was still neck dnd neck going into the final round as KSI continued to grab ahold of Fury whenever he stepped into range. KSI celebrated profusely at the final bell but while one judge scored the fight a draw, the other two gave Fury the nod by a single point.

The second instalment of the ‘double main event’ saw Dillon Danis disqualified as his fight with Logan Paul descended into chaos. Danis barely threw punches for the whole fight and Paul was awarded the first five rounds before Danis attempted to take him down in the sixth, prompting security guards to pile into the ring and bring the fight to a premature end.

Elsewhere on the card, Slim Albaher produced an impressive comeback by knocking out fan favourite Salt Papi. It was repeat in the rematch between Deen The Great and Walid Sharks as Deen won a dominant decision. Anthony Taylor did enough to beat King Kenny despite an uninspiring performance whilst MyMateNate won a one-sided decision against Whindersson Nunes.

Ed Matthews knocked out Swarmz in just 17 seconds after taking the fight on two days’ notice following Ryan Taylor’s withdrawal. Tempo Arts won the Misfits heavyweight title with a controversial decision win against Chase DeMoor whilst Astrid Wett defended her Misfits flyweight title by beating Alexia Grace.
