I tried Panasonic's RF tool and the anti-ageing tool lifted my face in 8 minutes

One thing that the pandemic has changed in the beauty market is the rise of at-home treatments and people have ditched going to aesthetic clinics for dermatologist-approved gadgets.

Beauty tools have improved a lot in the last decade and they do much more than just cleansing. The PMD Beauty Clean Pro RZ that I tested is a smart facial cleansing device that uses SonicGlow and comes with a genuine rose quartz for anti-ageing benefits.

There are also devices using radio frequency, microcurrent, LED light and more to replicate treatments that you normally get from a beauty salon. They are non-invasive and mostly clinically proven.

As I am searching for an anti-ageing device that can erase the fine lines of my face while giving me an at-home spa experience, I come across this Panasonic EH-XR10 Advanced RF Facial Device. It was launched in 2019 and has been in high demand during the pandemic as people looked for self-care beauty treatments.

How does it work?

The wireless RF Facial Device uses radio frequency and ultrasonic technologies to generate heat to the skin to stimulate the production of collagen, hence tightening skin and reducing wrinkles. It's pretty straightforward to use it - with three levels to choose and two modes to switch from – I started by using level 1 to let my skin get used to the heat.

But before that, I used Panasonic's facial steamer to prep my skin before I applied a conductive gel (which comes with the device as a set) while waiting for the machine to warm up. Then I started on the left side of my face and followed the instructions to set on RF+Ultrasonic to swipe outwards and lift upwards.

In the guide, it is recommended to use four minutes on one side. After the first session and as strange as it sounds, I can already see my nasal labial fold getting lighter. Comparing to my right side, the complexion appears visibly brighter and my jawline reappears.

Then I continued to work on the other side and spent a total of eight minutes for chin, jaw and cheek areas.

Next I swtiched the device to RF (radio frequency) mode for two minutes on my forehead to sooth the 11 lines between my brows and frown lines.

When the time's up, the machine beeped and switched off automatically.

Verdict

Before I put the device on my skin, I was expecting a burning sensation on my skin like another device I’ve tried in the past, but to my surprise, it's very gentle when touched on skin and it's set at a comfortable temperature.

The handheld facial tool had a slight vibration as I moved it along my face and again, it's nothing painful or tickling.

After my first treatment, my eye bags were less puffy and my skin appeared brighter and you can see in the pictures that the left side of my face was slightly lifted.

However after using the RF mode for two minutes on my forehead, it left me red marks but they disappeared before I put on any serums and creams.

After a continuous use of two weeks, my jawline is more defined and my laugh lines are less visible. It should take about eight weeks to see prominent results.

The Panasonic EH-XR10 Advanced RF Facial Device might not be for everyone due to its premium price point. Despite it was launched almost four years ago, the price only went down from £449.99 to £389.85 on Amazon.

But knowing that a similar treatment at a salon would cost about £200 for each visit, it might be worth splurging on the device and use it multiple times at home.
