Prime Video’s superhero satire Gen V is now well into its first season. Set in the diabolical world of The Boys, Gen V expands the hit franchise to Godolkin University, a prestigious superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes.
Gen V explores the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about super serum Compound V, and that their powers were injected into them, rather than God-given. But beyond the typical college chaos, the kids at the heart of the series are faced with explosive situations.

Gen V has earned some impressive reviews since its launch, with critics praising its maintaining of the irreverent and darkly comedic tone of its predecessor. The series currently boasts a near-perfect 97 percent rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
It boasts an ensemble cast of up-and-coming young stars including Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, and Patrick Schwarzenegger. It also includes appearances from The Boys stars Jessie T. Usher, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne, reprising their roles from the series.

Unlike many big releases, Prime Video chose not to release the entire series in one go, so fans aren’t able to binge all the episodes in one sitting. Instead, Prime dropped the first three episodes on September 29, with subsequent episodes following on Fridays.
The latest chapter – episode five – premiered on Friday, October 13. Episode six will drop on October 20, while episode 7 follows on October 27.
Amazon has confirmed the season will consist of eight episodes, with the epic season finale available to stream on November 3. Fans can expect new episodes to drop at 1am in the UK, so those who don’t mind a late night can stay up to catch the latest instalments at the same time it’s made available in the US.
