New York Jets injured quarterback Aaron Rodgers "loved every minute" of his team beating the Denver Broncos 31-21 after rival coach Sean Payton's scathing comments at offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

During his weekly appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show", Rodgers, who has been sidelined since Week 1 with a season-ending Achilles injury, couldn't be happier about the victory.

"I loved every minute of it," Rodgers said on the show's Tuesday edition. "One of the coolest things was watching the end of that game to see how people love Nathaniel so much. Yeah, he's not going to be making big deal about it, but he's a man. And those comments were horse**** in the beginning of the season, and we all wanted that for him for sure. So, I'm really, really happy for him."

Payton openly criticised Hackett in an interview, characterising his time in Denver as "one of the most lacklustre coaching performances in NFL history." Hackett served as the Broncos head coach last season after the team fired ex-head coach Vic Fangio. Payton would become his successor after Hackett made history for becoming the fifth head coach in NFL history [since the AFL merger] to not finish their first season as a team's head coach.

"That wasn't his fault," Payton said regarding QB Russell Wilson's statistical regression last season. "That was the parents who allowed it. That's not an incrimination on him, but an incrimination on the head coach, the GM, the president, and everybody else who watched it all happen."

He continued, "But everybody has got a little stink on their hands. It's not just Russell. It was a [poor] offensive line. It might have been one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the NFL. That's how bad it was."

After the game, the Jets social media team playfully mocked Payton by sharing a viral meme featuring actor Kevin James impersonating Sean. The caption humorously read: "When you lose to the "offseason champs" - a response to a previous remark made by Payton about the Jets.

During the game, the Jets gained significant momentum owing to the impressive performances of two players who share similar names. Running back Breece Hall scored a crucial 72-yard touchdown, while cornerback Bryce Hall made a fumble recovery and returned it for a touchdown.

On the ground, Breece compiled 177 yards on 22 carries, while Bryce contributed with four tackles in addition to his crucial score. The Jets outscored the Broncos 23-8 in the second half, securing a convincing victory.

The Jets' next game will be at home in MetLife Stadium on October 15 against the Philadelphia Eagles, one of only two teams in the NFL with a perfect 5-0 record. If the Eagles win, they will extend their all-time dominance over the Jets to a perfect 13-0 record, as this series dates back to their first-ever encounter in 1973.
