Players in Will Smith and wife Jada's split from her young lover to their kids
Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith have been secretly separated for seven years, but there are many players in the couple's evolving marriage.
In a tell-all interview ahead of the release of her memoir Worthy, Jada shared her relationship status and admitted that the pair are still trying to "figure out" what the future of their marriage looks like, adding that they have been separated since 2016.
Jada explained that they had even been living separately when Will famously slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars last year. Will, now 54, confronted comedian Chris, now 58, during the live broadcast of the awards ceremony over a joke that had been made about his wife's alopecia.

August was close friends with Jaden Smith (WireImage)The singer-songwriter was introduced to Jada by her son Jaden Smith, and he went on holiday with the trio to Hawaii in 2016. Alsina also famously attended the 2017 BET Awards with Pinkett Smith.
Jada and Alsina reportedly had a close, emotional bond from the onset and this later developed into a romantic relationship that Alsina says lasted for years to the point that he fell in love with her. Both Jaden and Willow Smith became friends with Alsina during the height of his health complications. Alsina suffers from a genetic, liver disease and battles mental health issues
Jada shocked many when she confessed to having an affair with August and spilling the details for all to know on her Facebook show Red Table Talk. August had previously shared claims he and Jada had a years-long affair with the blessing of her husband.
During the discussion, Jada referred to her relationship with August as an "entanglement." Will detailed how he and Jada came to the decision to part as they thought they were going to end their marriage, prior to her hooking up with August.
Jada explained face-to-face on camera to her husband how being with August made her feel as she spilled that he gave her "joy" - sending shock waves through Hollywood.

Back in 2020, Willow Smith spoke out about her mum having an affair with the singer and said that she is "so proud" of her. The teenager said that they were "the real deal" when they spoke about Jada having an "entanglement" with August and how Will felt about his wife being with another man.
She said: "I’m so proud of you, to be able to see you and Dad do that, for me, that was like, OK that was the real deal. That’s real love. When you can be like, ‘I’m with you, I’m gonna stand by you, and I’m gonna hold your hand because I love you’, that’s what we do and that’s really important."
Meanwhile, Jaden's friendship with August deteriorated because of the affair. The pair had met as actors for the unaired TV show Brothers in Atlanta. After that, they would attend music festivals and Hollywood parties together before falling out.

Adrienne Banfield-Norris
Adrienne backed her daughter (2018 Jason Mendez)Jada's mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris responded the claims made by August about his affair with Jada by sharing a cryptic quote online. She shared a message which read: "Get rid of the pedestal you put people on.
"Recognise that people are only people with flaws and imperfections just like you and me. Do that and you’ll be much happier, cause guess what??? They already are! Sleep well, beloveds! #keepitpushin.” At the time, Jada had not yet come clean about the affair and her rep had blasted them on the actress' behalf as “absolutely not true”.
According to The Sun, Will Smith's representative also branded the reports as "wrong" at the time.

Margot and Will worked together in Focus (Dumfries And Galloway Standard)Back in 2021, Will admitted that his marriage to wife Jada was not monogamous. The actor said they both came to the realisation that for them "marriage can't be a prison".
"We have given each other trust and freedom, with the belief that everybody has to find their own way," he told GQ. "And I don't suggest our road for anybody," the father-of-three added.
"But the experiences that the freedoms that we've given one another and the unconditional support, to me, is the highest definition of love," Will concluded before he admitted that he too had had relationships outside of their marriage, amid the news of Jada's affair with August.
Rumours began swirling in 2013 that Will was getting close with his Focus co-star Margot Robbie. The rumours began after the actors took advantage of a photo booth that was available to them during the film's wrap party.
An insider told US Weekly: "That was a photo booth on set that the producers got for everyone. It was the last day of filming and everyone was taking pictures. They were just goofing around. Will is just like that. There's nothing more to it."
Jada appeared to give the green light for Will to cheat in an interview with HuffPost that same year, telling the publication: “I've always told Will, 'You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay’.
“I'm here as his partner, but he is his own man. He has to decide who he wants to be and that's not for me to do for him. Or vice versa.”
